The Artist Haus is a hair salon at 3401 Conrad St #1 in Philadelphia, PA, offering a place for clients to talk through a new look and work with a stylist on their hair goals. Customer feedback describes visits that can include thoughtful consultations, haircuts, and color transformations, including a notably blonde result. With a 4.9-star rating across 283 reviews, the salon has earned strong praise from many clients, alongside a reminder that clear communication about the desired cut and styling approach matters. If you are considering a change, sharing what you like, what you want to avoid, and how much change feels comfortable can help set expectations before the service begins.
Reviews frequently recognize Mackenzie, also referred to as Mack, for listening carefully and discussing a client’s vision when they are unsure how to describe it. One first-time visitor praised the time spent figuring out the look together before going blonde. Another reviewer described working with Mack on returning safely to their natural color and said their hair later regained body and shine. These are individual customer experiences, not a promise of a particular result, but they suggest that consultation and hair condition are important parts of some appointments. Clients who want a significant color change may find it useful to bring reference photos and discuss the process and desired outcome in advance.
Haircuts and personal style are also part of the feedback. A longtime client says Gabby has helped shape their look over several years, understands what styles suit them, and is open to trying something new while being honest. Another review shares a very different experience: the customer wanted damaged ends removed and more movement from waist-length curly hair, but felt the cut did not match their request. That contrast makes it especially worthwhile to confirm the length, shape, layers, and amount of change you have in mind before the cutting begins. For curly or long hair, explaining what “movement” means to you can make the conversation more specific.
The Artist Haus may suit clients seeking a collaborative conversation about a haircut or color, whether they arrive with a clear plan or need help putting an idea into words. Feedback points to blonde transformations, returning toward natural color, and individualized cuts, but does not establish a complete service menu. The salon’s reviews include both enthusiastic recommendations and a critical account, so prospective clients can use a consultation to discuss their preferences, ask questions, and make sure they and the stylist share the same understanding before proceeding. This practical step can help create a more comfortable appointment and a clearer plan for the finished look.
Find The Artist Haus at 3401 Conrad St #1, Philadelphia, PA 19129, United States. The salon is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; it is closed Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Check the current schedule before planning a visit, especially if you are arranging a weekday appointment around work or other commitments. Whether you are exploring a lighter color, considering a fresh haircut, or looking for a stylist who will talk through your preferences, The Artist Haus offers Philadelphia clients a salon setting where communicating clearly about the desired result is an important part of the experience.

This was my first visit to Artist Haus and it certainly won't be my last! I am so obsessed with my new hair transformation -- I have not been this blonde in so long. I really appreciated Mackenzie's expertise and the time she spent discussing what the vision was (because I honestly wasn't sure lol) she also gave some great tips and advice and new product recommendations that I sincerely appreciated. I think the transformation pictures speak for themselves. Thank you so much again for everything!! :)
Mack is the best stylist i have ever had. I’ve been to many salons all over the country and Mack is the best hands down. My hair was falling out and within two visits i had regrowth and has regained body and shine. She was able to get my hair safely back to my natural color and work with my hair to get my curls back. I cannot stress enough how amazing this salon is. Her color skills are incredible. I’m a natural red head and she was able to match my hair perfectly and consistently which is key!
This place → The Artists Haus. HIGHLY + HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If you're looking for a top tier atelier location, this salon is without a doubt, beyond a hidden gem. The Artist Haus is Hair Salon: ⚜️ㅡ Gold Standard ㅡ⚜️ After getting my haircut in Seoul (서울), LA, and NYC, I was used to a 'higher precision' and 'face tailored' cut. I am VERY picky with who cuts my hair. I found MACK and she is experienced and skilled at making you look and feel ready for your biggest day, and cuts in a way that makes your hair 'easy to flair' on your own once you leave. I can dress casual in just a white T-Shirt and My Hair does ALL THE WORK. My favorite hairstylist of all time is in Philly of all places! Before 🦤 → After 🦚✨
Ill tempered and left me with a wolf cut from waist length curly hair. I wanted the dead off, some more movement - she took it upon herself to cut my hair how she wanted. Before the cut happened she interviewed me and didn't disclose she cuts hair the way she wants, then after that 20-30mins awkwardness she says 'ok, you can keep the appointment and I'll cut your hair today.' - I should have followed my instincts and walked out right then. (She told me all he staff quit, I can understand why). The wolf cut is great for a wolf cut, save the disconnection from where she left my length to where she got thinning shears happy. why have I taken so long since my appointment to post? She told me that she hunts down all the negative posts and gives the reviewer a harsh reply. So book with caution and don't expect to get what you asked for if it's not what she wants to do.
Gabby is my go to hairstylist. She has been taking care of my hair for the past 3 years and she has made my hair so much better since then. It has shaped my whole look as well. Gabby understands the right style for you and is always open to trying new hair style as well. She will be honest with you as well to make sure your hair is healthy at the end of the day. It’s always so fun going to her because we would come up with fun hair ideas. She is very easy to get along and make you feel comfortable and beautiful!! I love chatting with her during my appointment. Here are some of the awesome balayage and fun hair colors I have gotten done from her.
