The Blake Denver

The extensions my hair dresser matched to my hair were really icy blonde compared to the black extensions i had and did not blend. I asked if we could tone the extensions and the color is really splotchy. My hair was really damaged from the highlights and has never been this thin in my life. The color was not blended and never looked like my inspo photos. I called the salon and asked to talk to the owner about the services after spending thousands of dollars and never getting what i wanted. I never got a call back. In the meantime i had to spend another $3k on color corrections elsewhere and will have to buy new extensions *updated to reply back to The Blake I did reach out to the salon. When I called asking to speak with the owner, I intentionally used a different last name because I did not want unnecessary drama circulating through the salon or my complaint to negatively affect my stylist at the time. However, I called from my real phone number the same number associated with my client profile so I was absolutely reachable. I also want to clarify that I stated multiple times i was unhappy with the results, and unfortunately, the condition and appearance of my hair continued to get worse each time I came back in. I made an effort to address my concerns directly while also trying to protect my stylist from unnecessary conflict. Using a different last name when asking to speak privately with the owner does not change my experience or the concerns I repeatedly expressed while receiving services. Ultimately, based on both the results of my services and how my concerns were handled, i would not recommend this salon.

I've been coming to Hanna for my hair for a few years now!! She's done everything from a very blonde balayage, to more bronde, shorter hair, long hair, and now most recently darker with full bangs and I loved literally everything! She really does remember the details about how you like your hair and is extremely careful to make everything blended (if that's how you want it!) and just the right tone/color. I would continue going to her forever based on how my hair looks alone, but it's such an added bonus that I love chatting with her too! Such a genuine and fun soul!

The salon has a contemporary but relaxed and unpretentious feel. I especially love all of the natural light, and the acoustics (even for an industrial space) are never jarring. Everyone that works in the shop is friendly and welcoming. I appreciate the dedicated parking spots, and the ease of entry and exit as well. Kay is a great listener and talented stylist! She took time to get to know me and what I was looking for, provided updates and details along the way, and checked in with me about how everything was landing. I appreciated her calm, friendly presence and gentle but confidently skilled approach.

One of the best haircuts I’ve had. Shyer is very knowledgeable and great at communicating. I would recommend her to my friends, family, or anyone needing an amazing stylist. She leads her salon from the front and I have nothing but respect for her and her work ethic.

This was my first time visiting The Blake Denver; I booked a dry cut with Tacori - who was wonderful!! It’s always a little nerve wracking meeting with a stylist for the first time, but she put me at ease and helped me figure out the last details I wasn’t sure about with my cut. The energy in the salon was really nice; I’m already looking forward to the next service to book :) Thanks to the owner, Shyer, for being present and building the warm, collaborative and authentic experience I enjoyed. I’ll be back ;)
