The Blowout lounge

Ever since I moved to Dallas I have been going to Evelyn and she does an amazing job every time. I have really curly hair and I always have trouble finding someone who can not only work well with my hair type but also get it as straight as I want! I dont trust a lot of people with my hair but I trust her. I go to her for quarterly trims, blowouts, and have also had my hair dyed by her when I wanted to go darker. Every time has been amazing results. As long as I live here I will keep going back to her!

Arrived with dry natural hair that had not had a service in almost a year. Some grey. Unruly, thick, long and in need of a trim. I got a wash/detangle, color retouch, cut, Dominican blowout and curl. Evelyn made me feel at ease and the salon is welcoming and comfortable. The results were so far beyond what I expected! Could not believe I was looking at my own hair. I loved it. Thank you Evelyn!

This was my first time here and I was excited to get my hair done..... I left disappointed... My appointment was at 10:00 and there was a customer in the chair ...Evelyn wasn't professional... To the customer meaning me.. I try to ask him when she was going to be finished with the customer and she didn't give me a straight answer... When you have an appointment... I booked online so you know you had a 10:00 appointment coming.... I don't think it was fair because now she's going into my time... She didn't seem sincere.. and I wasn't going to have her rush through my hair ...so she can be on time with her other customers...but u wasn't on time for me..so I told her I was leaving

I’ve given this salon far too many chances over the past year and a half, and I feel it’s important to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. **keep in mind: I am Dominican and I have curly “dominican” hair. I have been getting Dominican blowouts my entire life.** I first went because the salon advertises Dominican blowouts. However, the results did not match what I expected from that service. The blowouts here typically only lasted about one day. I continued returning mostly because it was easy to schedule appointments since it’s a one-woman business. After some time she began coloring my hair. While the coloring was initially better than the blowouts, the overall quality gradually declined over time. For example, during blowout appointments I was sometimes not placed under the dryer, which is usually a key step in a Dominican blowout. I eventually stopped focusing on the blowouts and mainly came in just for highlights, sometimes even urging her not to put me under the hairdryer because why bother. Despite consistently asking for bright blonde highlights, I noticed a pattern where the color sometimes came out darker than what I requested on some visits (it seemed intentional). I communicated my dissatisfaction and I was met with blame, unawareness and passive aggression instead. She had to fix my hair two days after coloring and highlighting (with more highlights) causing more stress on my hair-strands since it was done sloppy the first time. Another uncomfortable aspect was that personal conversations I had shared in the salon were later referenced in a way that felt inappropriate to me. After that experience, I regretted sharing personal information with her, but it’s okay, what comes around comes back around. I also observed situations where other people’s children in the salon were scolded by her, which felt unprofessional in that environment. Overall, the declining quality of the services and the way concerns were handled are the reasons I will not be returning. I hope this feedback helps others decide whether the salon is the right fit for them.

I got a curly. Perm from her the best curls are so bouncy and love then came back a couple weeks later and had a haircut the best to ever do it
