The Swedish Connection is an auto repair shop at 4801 Chastain Ave Ste 150 in Charlotte, NC, serving drivers looking for help with vehicle repairs and maintenance. Customer reviews particularly mention Volvo ownership and service, including work on a Volvo S60 and an air-conditioning blower concern. If you are comparing a local repair shop with a dealership, the feedback suggests asking about your specific vehicle and repair before booking so you can understand whether the shop is a suitable fit for the job.
Customers describe a range of experiences. Positive reviews praise attentive communication, professional service, and repairs that helped them feel safer driving afterward. One Volvo owner said the shop listened to concerns about a recurring S60 problem after two dealership attempts had not resolved it. Other reviewers highlight a final bill that came in slightly below the quote, and describe service as fast, honest, or affordable. These accounts may be useful to drivers who value direct communication and want to discuss a repair with a local shop.
Feedback is not uniformly positive, and that context matters when choosing a mechanic. Some reviewers report frustration with how long a repair took, including a complaint about an air-conditioning blower job, while another describes dissatisfaction with billing and what they understood the service to include. Experiences can differ by vehicle, repair, and circumstances, so consider confirming the estimated timeline, the work covered by the quote, and how updates will be shared. Clear questions before leaving your car can help set expectations on both sides.
The shop is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday. Its Charlotte address is 4801 Chastain Ave Ste 150, Charlotte, NC 28217. The listed rating is 4.6 from 119 reviews, alongside the varied experiences described above. The Swedish Connection may be worth considering for Volvo owners and other drivers seeking auto repair in Charlotte, especially if they want to discuss a specific issue directly. Contact the shop to confirm current availability, whether it handles your vehicle and repair, and the expected cost and timing before scheduling. Arriving with a clear description of the symptoms and any prior repair attempts can make that conversation more productive.

If you own a Volvo, skip the dealership and go straight to Swedish Connection! I had a recurring issue with my S60 that the dealer couldn't fix after two separate attempts, and I was losing faith in the car. Joe listened carefully to my concerns, promised to get to the bottom of it, and absolutely delivered. He found the actual root cause, saved me a ton of money, and my car drove home smoother than it has in months. A massive thank you to Joe, Brandon, and the whole crew for taking such incredible care of me
Worst in every category!! Took one of my Volvo’s to this person to fix the blower for A/C unit in the vehicle .he kept my vehicle from aug 3 2025 until dec 11 2025 this guy had every excuse in the book why the work wasn’t done!! When he finally called on dec 11 for me to pick up my vehicle , 1st he had me do was make a payment which was more expensive than putting in a complete new A/C I paid $1500 and I had not even seen my vehicle! Once I paid the outrageous amount I was walked to my vehicle. Once there I opened up the drivers door and to my surprise my brand new leather car seats ,and my brand new carsilk floor mats, radio speakers, and OBII scanner were all gone!!! I asked him where they were he said he left my vehicle outside because he needed room for another vehicle and someone broke into my vehicle!! He said it happened about a month or so earlier yet he never called the police!!! So I asked him to call the police that day but he wouldn’t, so I called the police and they took a police report!! my back door wouldn’t close and the back window wouldn’t role down and my steering wheel wouldn’t lock still !! I Cranked the car up and the check engine light was on !! He said the heater core needed be replaced, he even wrote me estimate for $2500 This vehicle was flawless when I dropped it off no problems other than the blower resistor and this was actually checked out by a legitimate shop independence Volvo!! Only needed the blower resistor replaced!! While the police were there he kept stating he would replace everything after the police left he was very rude and told me to take him to court!!! Because he’s not responsible for vehicles that he’s working on at his shop!!! I will never let this nut case work on anything else ever of mine and yes I am going to take him to court!!! PS: He rigged up some button to AC unit and yet it still doesn’t work!!!!
Exceeded my expectations. Quoted me at one price and charged me a slightly lower price which I really appreciated. Professional service made me feel safe driving the car after all was said and done.
My experience at The Swedish Connection was extremely disappointing. My roommate picked up my car and paid the $380 bill as the shop closed before I finished work. I was initially okay with this amount, assuming it covered more extensive routine maintenance like fluid changes, new windshield wipers, and possibly air filters. This price was never discussed with me beforehand, so I had to make assumptions about the services provided. However, upon reviewing the receipt, I discovered that the only services performed were a simple oil change and tire rotation. The Volvo dealership quoted me $175 for the same services. When I inquired about the discrepancy and the high cost, I was told it included a 'diagnostic fee' for mentioning I might need brakes, which is unreasonable for routine maintenance. Despite multiple calls seeking clarification and a promised manager callback, I've received no resolution and feel completely scammed. I cannot recommend this shop due to their lack of price transparency, exorbitant charges for basic work, and poor customer service.
The Swedish Connection is one of the best mechanics I've ever used. They were fast, honest, and affordable. I'm so grateful I found this place, and I will definitely take my Volvo back to this location for service. This particular visit, my …
