These guys promised big things and charged big prices. Then they never did anything. I'd submit paper work they needed, they would then tell me it would take 3 months. Then I wouldn't hear from anyone for 6-9 months at which time they works request the same paperwork I previously sent. This cycle repeated and they of course needed more money to add the year that had past. Naively i paid them more money. By the second year I refused to pay more money and was upset. Then they called me and claimed they settled my debt but needed to pay 60k that day and they would loan me the money. They said I had 30 minutes to sign a form they emailed. I hesitated and they repeatedly called and messaged me demanding i sign their loan forms. I asked them to never contact me again. This is such a scam it makes me sick thinking of the money they took from me. I contacted a local CPA and he is getting me squared away for fractions of what these crooks stole from me

$17,000 Later and Nothing to Show For It – Avoid Tax Group Center I hired Tax Group Center (TGC) in 2021 after getting an IRS notice about back taxes. They promised to help reduce what I owed and acted quickly—until I paid them $17,000. After that, things went downhill fast. They filed a Power of Attorney, calculated my tax debt, and submitted a few returns. That’s it. They promised bookkeeping support, but I ended up doing it all myself. I’ve saved zero in taxes, and I still owe the same amount. Communication was awful. Weeks would go by with no updates, and every call ended with, “We’re working on your case.” A manager even applied for loans using my info without permission, which hit my credit score. When the loans were denied, she just disappeared. No follow-up, no accountability. I requested a refund for services they never provided—months later, still no response. After four years, I’ve never once spoken to an attorney. If TGC shows up in your search, keep scrolling. You’re better off calling the IRS directly and setting up a payment plan.

I received a letter from this company although the letterhead did not list the name of the company, I called to find this out. First, the company could tell me nothing of the tax due yet they sent me a letter (makes no sense). I called the state that they stated I owed money to. They couldn't find anything. I called The Tax Group again and asked for more info and they hung up on me. I believe they are getting very old tax data and sending out letters in the hopes that they can get some type of collections business. Sounds like a poor business plan. Very rude employees doesn't help.
