I have been going to TMS for 5 years and I consistently recommend them. They are consistent, affordable, quick, and courteous. Whenever I bring my car in, I feel comfortable knowing it’s in good hands, and while auto repair isn’t my favorite thing to spend money on, I always know that I’m getting a fair quote at TMS. They have always been happy to answer any questions, and don’t push work that I don’t need, so I really trust them when they tell me that something needs attention. Tony, Ngoc, and the rest of the crew are solid dudes who do great work. As long as I’m in Oakland, these are my car guys.

I’ve been going to see Tony for the last 10 years or so. I’ll follow him wherever he goes because he is honest and kind and he works really really hard. I always feel taken care of when I call him up to bring my car in. I’ve never had a problem with my vehicle after he repairs it as Tony and his staff all stand behind their work. As a woman, I am used to auto repair shops trying to get over on me for my lack of knowing the basics about cars. Never my experience with TMS Automotive. He explains everything to me and makes sure I understand before I sign off on the work being done. All of my immediate family and co-workers go to Tony because of my recommendation and keep going back because they find what I say is true about him. I highly recommend him!

Excellent service here, and quick! I got my car back within the hour which is a record for car repair. I brought my Acura MDX to TMS for a problem that eluded me, and Tony fixed it right away. He couldn't have been nicer either. The garage is 2 blocks away from bus lines on International, and 1 mile from Lake Merritt BART.

I never write reviews, but I am feeling a little taken advantage of by TMS Auto. I had taken my car in to get new brake pads about 3 months ago. After I dropped my car off, I remembered that I had a light that was out. The gentleman on the phone told me that they had already fixed it. I thought, Wow how nice. When I went to pick up my car, he charged me for the light to be replaced which rubbed me the wrong way because they had already done this without my approval, but since I had called them to repair this anyway, I just paid for the service. My real issue is that they told me that my rear brake pads didn't need to be changed yet and that I should come back after my next oil change in about 5-6,000 miles. Again, I though, Wow how nice. I have since driven that 5-6,000 miles and took my car into another shop since I am currently out of town. This new shop told me that I still have about 15,000 miles left on my rear brake pads. I don't appreciate feigned honesty and integrity. In all fairness, the work completed seems to have been perform satisfactorily. Just updated my review to one star because I just learned that they failed to apply my brake pads correctly essentially burning out the rotors. Now, I have to get everything replaced again already. I went to 2 places to be sure and they both told me the same thing. I completely regret taking my vehicle here.
