Tram Cream Coffee 2 is a Vietnamese coffee shop located on Story Road in the heart of San Jose, California's Vietnam Town neighborhood. Situated at 999 Story Rd, Unit 9012, the shop is part of a lively corridor filled with Vietnamese markets, bakeries, and eateries that make this part of San Jose a destination for food lovers. Open every day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tram Cream Coffee 2 offers a convenient window for early morning coffee runs, midday breaks, or casual afternoon visits. Whether you are a local resident or someone exploring Vietnam Town for the first time, this coffee shop is easy to find and worth a stop if you enjoy Vietnamese-style café drinks.
The menu at Tram Cream Coffee 2 centers on cream coffees and creative Vietnamese-inspired beverages. Customers frequently mention the cream coffee and the white bear as favorites, describing them as flavorful and visually appealing. The egg coffee and matcha cream coffee are also available, though reviews for those options are more mixed. For non-coffee drinkers, the shop serves iced teas, including a lychee tea. The drinks are layered and colorful, making them a treat for the eyes as well as the palate. Pricing reflects what you might expect for specialty drinks in the area, with larger sizes running around seven dollars.
The ordering process at Tram Cream Coffee 2 is straightforward. Customers can wait in a short line or use a self-service kiosk to place their order, then pick up their drinks at a separate counter. Staff members are consistently described as friendly and welcoming, which adds warmth to the experience. One thing first-time visitors should know is that drinks are traditionally served with a generous amount of ice—a common practice in Vietnamese café culture. Some customers have noted that the ice takes up a significant portion of the cup, which can feel surprising, especially if you request no ice and receive a smaller fill. If you prefer a different ice ratio, it is a good idea to clarify your preference when ordering. Those who enjoy sipping slowly often come to appreciate how the ice keeps the drink cold and subtly changes the flavor as it melts.
With a 3.9-star rating across nearly 190 reviews, Tram Cream Coffee 2 has built a steady presence in the San Jose coffee scene. The shop is a solid pick for anyone curious about Vietnamese cream coffee or looking for a casual spot in Vietnam Town to grab a quick, photogenic drink. It works well for solo visits, short meet-ups with friends, or a pit stop while exploring the neighborhood. While not every item on the menu will appeal to every taste, the cream coffee and white bear have earned loyal repeat customers. If you find yourself on Story Road and want to experience a piece of Vietnam Town's café culture, Tram Cream Coffee 2 is a friendly place to start.

Sign in to reviewI ordered the Matcha Cream Coffee and it was okay. Service was fairly quick. You order in one line or there is a self service machine to order from and you pickup in another area. The drink was nice looking, but the flavor wasn't my cup of tea IMHO. Check it out and make up your own mind. It was busy.
The people working there were extremely nice but what I wish I knew before ordering is that you always should order with ice and that they add too much ice. 1. I ordered the Lychee Tea Large (as seen by my cup) and asked for No Ice. They basically only filled it halfway which is the size of the Small cup. They still gave me the Large Cup because they assumed I would add ice to it later. The staff said it was super sweet so I asked for 50% sugar and it was still too sweet because it was clearly meant to have ice added to it. I wish that it was more clear that it was more of a syrup than a refresher tea. 2. We also ordered the VIP which was pretty good but again, a lot of ice. The photo shown was the drink after not being able to get anything out of the straw anymore because it was still full of ice. 3. All the coffee is sold iced so can’t ask for anything hot. The staff told me that the closest they can do is the Creamy Ha Noi because with no ice, it would be lukewarm. So I ordered it, but turns out it was a traditional macchiato style drink without the ice. But they didn’t have a proper shot cup so it was basically the espresso and the toppings stuck to the bottom of a plastic 12 oz cup. We ended up asking for ice and water to be able to drink it. Don’t have the picture for that for that unfortunately! It would have been nice for them to have told me more about the drink (or have that information on the menu) for the Lychee drink and the Creamy Ha Noi when I was ordering. But either way, they put a lot of ice in the drinks. Also the acoustics of the place amplify the sound so it’s a bit loud in the “echoing” kind of way. Plenty of seating and cute aesthetic.
I love this coffee shop. I have tried various drinks from this location, my favorites are the cream coffee and the white bear. It is a bit shocking the first time when you see all the ice but if you’re a sipper like me then you get to understand why they add so much ice after you’ve had your drink for an hour or so. You have to let the ice melt so your drink gets balanced, then it’s not too thick and not too sweet. This is one of my favorite places for strong coffee so I highly recommend that you try it. Although you will be disappointed if you’re one of those people that basically chugs their drink.
We visited this place because our friends had recommended it, and since we were in Vietnam Town, we thought we might as well give it a try. We ordered their coffees for takeaway. One order of egg coffee was okay, but I didn’t have any sleep issues even though I drank it at 2 pm. The coffee wasn’t strong enough for me, though. The other order was their VIP coffee, but I didn’t like how much liquid they poured in the glass compared to the size of the glass.
Ice issue like everyone else here mentions. I took 6 sips of my $7.00 drink and it is gone already. They claim they will address your issue but have not. Too bad many people are coffee addicts so they will just accept what they are given and not complain. Let’s not normalize this. It’s not even like this in Vietnam.
