I was referred to Trang Tran from a close mutual friend within the BJJ/MMA community that we both are apart of. At first, I really liked the Attorney. I notified him upfront that it was an employment law claim against H.C. Not many people have the courage to take on the government (there are other reasons as well) He assured me that I he has gone against HC many times and has won. So had no issues with them. Before the consultation, I made it very clear that if he has no interest in filing against the government then I don't need to schedule an appointment and pay him $500 for a case he wasn't going to take anyway. He said all the right things. Sent some follow up questions, which I answered in great detail. I provided better evidence than 90% of the cases he takes (according to his own words) then ghosted. Yes, we had not signed a contract yet. However his demeanor made it seem like he would. All and all, I believe he was untruthful about having any intention on going up against H.C. I searched for this Attorney being attached as Attorney of Record on cases against Harris County. Mr. Tran assured me he had taken plenty of cases and knew the Attorneys for H.C. and won most of those cases. Yet, I could not find his name attached as AOR against H.C. Despite him assuring me he did. If Mr. Tran had told you about “cases he’s won” ask him for proof because, I am the opinion that he lied to me and blew smoke, then ghosted until he could come up with an excuse. If he insists on the consultation fee and you are relying on his “word” (eyes roll) then get that in writing to protect yourself. Attorney Tran knows I am a disabled veteran. Therefore, I am of opinion that he prays on disabled veterans and the vulnerable, for a “quick buck”. Funny thing is that another person who was referred to him said he did the same exact thing to them. Blew smoke, just to get the consult fee paid. Willfully ignored them then, after “months” of reaching out, demand like $4,500 just to stay on the case. To me, it was even worse. He demand $15k immediately but his tone was that he wouldn’t put any effort into my case aside from simply filing the suit. Which would be a grievance with the state Bar. In conclusion, if you are a Veteran and/or claim to care about Veterans then DO NOT reach out to this Attorney. I was also told that his staff does the “positive reviews”. To which a complaint to Yelp and Google Reviews should be made because that’s another example of fraud. BUYER BEWARE.
