Patient feedback is mixed and points to an important distinction: some reviewers describe doctors as good, compassionate, and attentive to patient health, while others report difficulty reaching staff, long phone holds, delayed call-backs, and problems with referrals or lab orders. These are individual accounts, not a guarantee of what another patient will experience, but they are worth considering when choosing a primary care clinic. The listed rating is 2.3 out of 5 from 40 reviews. Prospective patients may want to ask how best to reach the office and how to confirm that referrals, medication authorizations, or lab paperwork have been handled.

UNLV Health Internal Medicine Primary Care may be worth considering if you are looking for an internal medicine primary care clinic in Las Vegas and the location and listed hours work for you. Before relying on the office for time-sensitive needs, verify the next steps directly with the clinic and keep track of any instructions or documents discussed. If you already receive care there, clearly confirming what was requested and when to expect follow-up may help you navigate administrative tasks. As with any medical practice, choose a provider based on your health needs, access requirements, and the communication process that works for you.

Dr.Walter Chatum started great and then just disappeared, I tried to get a hold of him via staff, portal and text. A medication I requested ended up being something that I needed authorization, my last visit he discussed two medications but none where prescribed and it’s been hell to try to communicate, I let him know via portal what was happening, he messaged after a month, then ghosted me again and haven’t heard back since September 12. Now I have to restart the process with another Rheumatologist, I feel like when your brown you get dismissed and in Vegas it’s the worst, been dealing with dismissive doctors since 2017 and it’s sad when you are trying to figure out what is happening with your health and I just continue to get worst as the years pass with no answers from the people you seek to help you.

Excellent doctor, compassionate and cares about the patient's health...very amateurish phone system however, bordering on insane: "Your call is very important to us, please wait for the next available agent..." is heard every 3-5 seconds …

Expect to be on hold this long to even be able to talk to front desk. I had a referral sent over multiple times and anytime I called in. I was just told they didn’t get it to the point where we continued faxing it over again and again and finally got it to a different number and they did receive it and was told that it’ll take time for the doctor to reach out and review the referral and get you on schedule when inquiring about timeline I received a very vague response without any clarity or reassurance after waiting anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes on each phone call just to talk to somebody for 60 seconds. Still Going through the process and hoping that by the end of this, I can update this review with a better experience

I WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE MY BLOOD DRAWN TODAY, AND THEY NEVER SENT THE ORDERS. SO I CANCELLED MY APPT. I AM SO SICK OF THIS PLACE. I CANNOT RECOMMEND UNLV.
