V & M Auto Repair is an auto repair shop at 5700 Newtown Ave in Philadelphia, PA 19120. Customers describe a father-and-son shop where knowledgeable mechanics work on a range of cars and handle everyday automotive needs. If you are looking for a local Philadelphia repair shop for maintenance, an inspection, or a repair concern, V & M is a neighborhood option with a reputation customers connect to experience and trust. The shop has a 4.7-star rating from 17 reviews. That feedback offers a useful perspective from people who have brought their vehicles in and value clear, capable service. Business hours are not provided, so contact the shop directly to confirm availability before visiting.

Reviews mention general auto maintenance, inspections, tune-ups, and brake work. Customers also describe bringing vehicles in when a check engine light appears or when they need help understanding a repair recommendation. One reviewer says Tony knows a great deal about cars and charges reasonable prices. Another describes taking a vehicle to V & M for a second look after a different shop recommended costly belt work. These accounts suggest that customers appreciate having a knowledgeable mechanic assess the vehicle and explain what it may need. The reviews do not establish a complete service menu, so drivers should ask whether the shop can handle their specific make, model, and concern.

Trust is a recurring theme in the customer feedback. One long-time customer says they have been going to the father-and-son team since 1975 and mentions that they leave feeling the vehicle has been fixed. Other reviewers describe the mechanics as capable and approachable. For drivers who feel unsure about a warning light, an inspection result, or a proposed repair, that kind of confidence can matter. The available reviews reflect individual experiences rather than a guarantee of any particular outcome, but they give prospective customers a sense of why people return: knowledgeable help, reasonable pricing as described by one reviewer, and a familiar local shop relationship.

V & M Auto Repair may suit Philadelphia drivers looking for a practical place to discuss routine maintenance or common repair needs, including brakes, tune-ups, and inspections mentioned by customers. It may also be worth contacting if you want a mechanic to assess a vehicle issue before deciding how to proceed. Share the vehicle's symptoms, make, model, and any prior inspection findings when you call, and ask about current availability, pricing, and the services offered for your vehicle. Located on Newtown Ave in Philadelphia, V & M offers a neighborhood alternative for drivers who value experienced, personal service and want to speak with the people working on their car.

My husband was in a horrible mc accident 2 years ago, and the general auto maintenance/know how that I simply do not possess was put on my shoulders. So when my check engine light came on in my 2014 Nissan Murano w/54k miles, I almost …

I take all my cars there for a number of reasons but the number one reason is trust. For example my wife took her car to a local place closer to home and she failed inspection- they told her she needed a number of belts and it would cost over 800 dollars. I took the car to V and M and they checked and said the belts were fine- lesson learned. When it comes to a blind item like auto repair in which I have little knowledge you need a honest and fair shop. Lastly, when a place has been in business as long as these guys have it speaks volumes, you do not stay in business this long by doing bad work.
