VAIN

I've been seeing Tess for haircuts for about six months and wanted to give her a shout out for always doing what I ask, which seems so rare to find in a stylist these days! Also bonus points to the folks who set the schedules for always being proactive about giving Tess enough time for clients and adjusting where needed. Good peace of mind to know I'm taken care of and able to leave the haircuts to the pros.

I went out of my comfort zone here! This review is for the quality of service I received. The way I feel about my haircut now that it has settles is of NO REFLECTION on my stylist. I want to thank VAIN and my stylist Tess for having a single chair day with masks required! I haven't had a professional haircut or any "salon time" for myself in quite a few years! I am immunocompromised and getting someone's cold or flu could cause me complications. As a service provider myself, I know how important it is to be able to work. I can't afford to take anymore sick days than I already do having a chronic illness. I hope VAIN Ballard will continue to have these days, I'd love to keep seeing Tess as my stylist. In fact, I might be back real soon.

I had a very disappointing experience with customer service. When I reached out to reschedule my appointment, despite providing a full day’s notice as requested, I was still charged a no-show fee. Additionally, the interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. As someone who has been coming here for years, this was especially disheartening. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not be returning.

I got my hair done by Grace! She was awesome! Sometimes I get a little social anxiety when I go to the salon, but Grace made me feel super comfortable, didn’t try to force convo, matched my energy level, and did a great job living out my vision. I was kinda all over the place with what I wanted, and I feel like Grace gave me exactly what I had in mind as well as teaching me a few things along the way. I was nervous going into it, because I chose a style I haven’t had before , and it was my first time at the salon, but I’m super stoked on my new do, and I will definitely be back!!!

The last cut I asked for them to just clean up the face framing and they gave me bangs which was unfortunate but otherwise always fantastic. I’ve been coming for about 4 years and have seen a bunch of different stylists. They always do a very good job and would recommend!
