First time visiting Vans today . Fabric was kinda pricy in comparison to other local fabric stores I've visited. It's also a small store. But they have excellent customer service! The store mostly carried silk, satin, some cottons, poly poplin, and embellished lace
Love love this place! Family owned & operated here in Boston's Chinatown for over 40 years. They have an excellent selection of fabrics--tons of quality silks & brocades--but also more mid-range-to-affordable cottons & polyesters as well. I came here to source some items for an art project in which I specifically needed some metallic and shiny fabrics that were highly pigmented & they did not fall short. While they cater to Asian textiles, I found what I needed and at a very good value. The store isn't very big and do not count on them carrying other sewing accessories such as needles/scissors/etc. but all in all I was ecstatic to see such a unique selection in a locally owned business (places that are sadly becoming harder and harder to find). The service was excellent and the employee who helped us was extremely friendly. Pro-tip: their hours posted are not set in stone and might vary here & there so be sure to give them a call before heading down to confirm they're open. I was there on a Sunday afternoon during a holiday week. Go support this business! You will not be disappointed.
I had a great experience from the second I walked in! Came in to look for custom dress for qipao or cheongsam. Super accommodating to what I was looking for and even after the dress was made, I needed to get it altered a couple times and they did everything I asked for and was very easy to communicate with. They are so nice & I'd recommend to anyone that needs to get a custom dress!
Family-owned business. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. Very knowledgeable about their fabrics and full of sewing tips. They were happy to spend all the time necessary with me to help me find what I needed. Fabrics are absolutely beautiful with extremely reasonable pricing. I was floored by the place...in a very good way. I will absolutely go back there!!!
Although I was nervous about going because of the reviews, it was near my hotel, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I found the people to be extremely nice and friendly and I like the fact that it's not a chain, but a simple mom and pop store. I'd definitely recommend it!
