Van's is an Asian restaurant at 3214 Broadway in San Antonio, TX, offering an intimate evening dining experience in the Broadway corridor. Open Wednesday through Monday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and closed Tuesdays, Van's keeps focused dinner hours that suit a planned meal, a special night out, or a gathering with people who appreciate lingering over conversation and full plates. Its setting has also been noted as a place for private holiday parties, where guests can enjoy a shared evening in a more personal atmosphere.

The menu draws attention for Asian comfort dishes, including pho and Pad Thai. One guest described the pho as unlike other versions they had tried around San Antonio, specifically appreciating the basil and a bone-in preparation that created a distinctive flavor. That kind of detail may appeal to diners who want to explore a familiar dish with its own character rather than expect a standard, interchangeable bowl. Reviews also mention memorable food, exceptional wine, and fresh dishes, pointing to an experience centered on the meal as well as the time spent at the table.

For guests considering Van's, planning ahead is especially useful. A customer review reports that reservations may be required at least 24 hours in advance for dine-in service, while another review describes a wait for a to-go Pad Thai order. Availability and takeout policies can vary, so calling ahead to confirm reservations, seating, current service options, and timing is a practical step before visiting. The restaurant's limited evening schedule makes advance preparation particularly helpful for San Antonio diners coordinating a date night, dinner with friends, or a small celebration.

Located in San Antonio's 78209 area, Van's Asian restaurant can be a fit for diners seeking a quieter, reservation-oriented meal rather than a quick, casual stop. Feedback reflects a range of experiences, including praise for fresh food and attentive service alongside concerns about access and wait times. That mix makes direct communication worthwhile: confirm the details that matter to your visit, then arrive ready to enjoy an evening meal in a setting where food, wine, and conversation are part of the occasion.

The place was empty, and the lady stated that I needed to have reservations at least 24 hours in advance in order for me to have the privilege to eat in. So, I asked for carryout and was told that they don't do carryout because the food will be too expensive for me to pay for. Thats when I realized that I was not welcome in their establishment. The only thing I can assume was that they only serve certain folks in there, and I don't fit their profile. Their bad, and from other comments I read, I am glad that I did not eat their food.

35 minutes for one Pad Thai order to go. Entrees went up to almost $20 a plate. Chicken was old and dry. Absolutely gross. Will never go back.

Spent the evening at a private holiday party surrounded by great people, memorable food, and exceptional wine. Somehow no photos—just good conversation and full plates. Access to this venue is worth seeking out.

Pleasantly surprised! I had their Pho and found that it was unlike any other in the city. The use of basil and something about the bone in recipie was different in a really great way. Try it out, you will be happy you did!
