I called this place looking for a repair service for my car. Over the phone, the gentleman was very polite and explained the cost of the labor and the part, so I felt comfortable bringing my vehicle in for the repair. However, when I arrived, the situation was completely different. He told me, in a very rude and condescending manner, that the repair would cost much more because my car is 20 years old and they would have to remove additional parts. He also said that if any of those parts needed to be replaced, the cost would increase even more. What frustrated me the most was that none of this was mentioned during our phone conversation. When I asked why he had not explained these possibilities beforehand, he said that he did not want to waste time discussing them over the phone. I pointed out that he had already wasted my time by having me drive there without giving me all the necessary information in advance. I also felt that he was speaking to me as if I did not understand what he was talking about simply because I am a woman. My advice is not to rely solely on what you are told over the phone. If you are considering having work done here, make sure you visit the shop and get a detailed explanation of all possible costs before committing, so you do not waste your time as I did.

Great price, great service, hassle free and professional. I went to Vick’s to do my state inspection. I was in and out. Dane was polite and professional. A very positive experience and easy to arrange. I was able to get on the books the same day and greeted by the same person I talked to on the phone— Dane. I highly recommend.

Brought my car in to get it checked for a 26-hour (both ways) drive I was going to be taking in about a week. Vick and his team gave me their evaluation within the day and were completely transparent about the costs for the repairs - replacing an old drive belt and a leaking radiator. Once I gave the thumbs up they took care of it right away and had the car ready for me the day after, even ate the cost of a more expensive part because the shop they had purchased from kept giving them faulty parts, and they wanted to make sure my car was ready in time for my trip. My car had zero problems during the drive despite being almost 15 years old. Couldn't recommend their shop more, were very honest and made sure that I was aware of exactly what they were doing and anything I should pay attention to during my drive just in case

Vick is honest, speedy, and hardworking. Don’t get cheated by some chain; come here and support a local business. No frills, but I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Austin to get service done.
