Vietnam Veterans of America is listed as a veterans organization at 1018 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201. For people in Mesa who are looking for this organization or considering arranging a donation pickup, the address and recent customer feedback offer useful context. The available listing shows a 3.1-star rating based on 18 reviews. Hours are not provided, so check current details before making a trip or planning around a pickup. This description sticks to the information available in the listing and customer comments rather than assuming services or policies that are not confirmed.

Several reviewers describe arranging pickups for clothing and household donations, sometimes after receiving a mailing with a yellow donation bag. Items mentioned include clothing for men and women, toys, games, and housewares. These accounts suggest that donation pickup has been an important part of some customers’ experience with the Mesa listing. If you are considering this option, confirm the appointment, pickup window, accepted items, and where donations should be placed directly with the organization. Keep in mind that the reviews report mixed outcomes, so a scheduled pickup should not be treated as guaranteed based on the information here.

The feedback is notably critical of pickup reliability and handling. Reviewers say that scheduled collections were missed, including donations left outside for much of the day, and one customer reports that a bag and glass item were dropped in a driveway without cleanup. Another reviewer says a planned furniture pickup did not happen. These are individual accounts, not a complete record of every experience, but they are relevant when deciding how to prepare donations. If your items are time-sensitive, bulky, or fragile, consider confirming arrangements and having a backup plan rather than leaving them outdoors for an extended period.

For Mesa residents, Vietnam Veterans of America may be worth contacting if you want to learn whether a donation pickup can be arranged for your items. Its listing identifies it as a veterans organization, while the available reviews focus mainly on donation collection rather than other programs or services. Ask specific questions about the pickup date and time, what can be collected, placement instructions, and how to handle a missed visit. With no posted hours and customer reports that vary in outcome, direct confirmation is especially useful. The listing provides a local point of reference in Mesa, but the reviews indicate that dependable communication and follow-through are important considerations before making plans.

I scheduled a pick-up for Wednesday, 9/20/23 and had everything boxed, bagged and ready to go. I set everything out at 6:00 AM. I received an e-receipt in the afternoon saying I had requested one, which I hadn't. VVA NEVER CAME! I then put everything in the back of my truck and took it to Goodwill. Yesterday I found a paper receipt at my front door from VVA saying, "Sorry we missed you. We tried to call." They never tried to call. So sad such a sorry organization is representing vets. I will NEVER try to donate to VVA ever again.

Vietnam Veterans mailed out envelopes with the yellow bag for donations to be picked up on May 3rd. Thought GREAT! Gave to the Vets thru out the years. Had two (2) BIG bags filled with men and women’s clothing! Toys, games for kids. Put the bag out at 4:00am and finally took it back in at 8:00 pm. No one picked up, I tried calling to see IF they were still coming and No one answers! This is NOT the 1st time this happened! Lost faith in Vietnam Veterans and very disappointed! There are many other charities in Mesa that would be happy to have these items!

I have donated to Vietnam Vets for years and the pickup crew has become HORRIBLE!!! Today was the final straw the driver just drop one of the yellow bags and dropped a glass that was in bag and just left in my driveway without letting me or trying to clean it up!!! I packed these bags carefully but he was trying to carry too much!

We are moving and have a lot of Clothing and housewares that we wanted to donate to VVA. We called and scheduled a pickup for today between 8-5. We were told that all the merchandise (of which there is a lot) had to be put outside near curbside. We got up early and hauled all the merchandise out to the driveway and put a big sign on it saying “VVA “. We called at 3:00 and left a voice mail message. Again at 3:30. Again at 4:00 and one last time at 4:15. No one answers the phone all day. No truck as promised to pickup the merchandise. Very upset that they don’t even have the courtesy to return calls. Thanks VVA. Now we have to haul it ourselves to Goodwill. Should have called Goodwill first. They’re reliable. You let us down!

They ask us to leave our thrift on the street and don't pick it up. I've pre-arranged for them to pick up furniture and they skip that, too. Not sure they're legitimate but they're sure irresponsible.
