I will start by saying the Doctors and staff here are great. They are not the problem at all. The problem is the billing and coding department that they utilize. I was a self pay patient establishing care. I paid for my visit. I was sent to get lab work and was willing to pay for that as well once I received the charges. To my dismay I received a bill for another “problem focused” visit for the same date of service. When I inquired as to what this was they told me that it was because the doctor noted I had nasal congestion and talked to me about it. Talking about a stuffy nose incurred another $124 charge that I was not notified of. I asked for a review and a call back. I never received that call and assumed it was taken care of. Turns out it was not and I was sent to collections. I’ve tried to call them and deal with this, but their business department will lie to you in an attempt to collect money. They try to word salad you thinking you don’t understand the process. They continually tell you that something isn’t possible, like a call back from a supervisor, and then when pressed back track. TLDR: Doctors are good, but every visit is a financial minefield because their business side of the practice is highly unethical

My last two Dr’s at Family Medical have been awesome! The first one moved on. Now Dr Edwards made the transition seamless. No long waits and visits are stress free. She talks to you like a person not just another patient.

Update: 6/21 It’s been more than a week since I posted my review here and also emailed them but there has been no response. They have also not called me about my results, which I don’t care much for since they just regurgitate whatever is on my results in the app. But they used to call. Still no reply on my previous question in app as well. 6/11While in-staff experience was satisfactory, my concern is actually caused by a staff named Philanesia Wiley who responded to my lab queries through the Village Medical app. I sent 2 queries through the ‘send a message’ button under lab results. While I received a respond for one of the queries. The same staff responded very rudely to my second query. 1. She said that I am NOT to send messages regarding labs. Q: Then why is there a ‘have a question? send a message’ button on patients’ lab results? 2. She says it prevents them from being able to assist patients in the office. Fine. I can accept that ONLY IF she did respond to my questions, which she DID NOT. She’s using the time she should be ‘prioritizing’ patients (in her own words) to lecture me not to waste her time, all the while not giving me a response and in doing so, wasted MY time as well as the patients she was supposed to be prioritizing. 3. She said that the portal is used for EMERGENCY messages. I know for a fact this cannot be true because even when we call the clinic, it will tell patients to DIAL 911 in case of an emergency, do not leave a message, etc. Patients are aware that messages are for NON-emergency queries. Please don’t take us for fools. 4. She says the messages go through a few channels prior to reaching the providers. That is a backend issue, it shouldn’t be the patient’s concern. Maybe it’s best for this staff, Philanesia Wiley, to get a refresher course and be re-educated on your organizations’s protocols. And by the way, my initial question has still not been answered. All I got was berating and rude messages. I don’t understand. If she takes the time to be rude and condescending, why not just use that same time to respond to my queries. It would have been once and done instead of a back and forth that at this point seems to have wasted more of my time than hers. And if the provider has not gotten back to her, she could have waited to respond. I would have been perfectly ok with that. Beats getting lectured and berated at.

Finally a PCP who takes time to listen and explain why and what she is thinking! Very articulate, to the point without sacrificing pt care. 11/10 recommend NP Sablatura! …

Overall very professional, well organized and everything is at my fingertips. The care is amazing from check in to first visit with Nursing Assistant, seeing my Doctor, blood work and this amazing Client Portal. Dr Mehta is awesome and I pray he doesn’t leave us too soon.
