Sign in to reviewFirst time here, I came because I saw they had Gluten Free bread and it's rare to find. I had the Cranberry Walnut Chicken salad sandwich with the potato soup. Both excellent, the soup you can tell is home made and not from a can. The restaurant is set in a home remodeled to a restaurant. It's so nice and the staff was so friendly .
Ordered the Monte Christo Sandwich and it was perfect! I didn't care too much for the fruit as it tasted a bit old. Service was pretty quick and the staff helped answered any questions I had as a first timer. The inside is super cute and cozy. I think this is a perfect spot to do work/study.
We found respite from the rain and a great meal this morning. I had the French toast and it tasted like something my Mom would cook. The cinnamon level was perfect, which is a big deal when it comes to French toast. The eggs were light and fluffy and the pancakes must have been on point because my Hubby left nothing! No doggy bags needed here.
Update about a year later: Still 10/10 awesome! Old review below: Great food. Fresh. Delicious! I live abroad but came back to the Alamo City for a visit. W D Deli has been a favorite local spot for me for decades. It is still one of my favorite lunch spots on the planet. Everything about this place is wonderful and Puro San Antonio. 10/10 still awesome!
The service here was great. I got the half soup and sandwich. Both were delicious. The sandwich was smaller than I expected, but it was yummy so I didn’t mind. The shop is cute and has great lighting. We opted to sit outside on a sunny day and it was nice.
