Washington Health Nakamura is a medical clinic located at 33077 Alvarado-Niles Rd in Union City, California, serving people seeking weekday healthcare close to the Alvarado-Niles Road area. For local patients searching for a medical clinic in Union City, CA, the practice offers a local address and a Monday-through-Friday schedule, open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The clinic is closed Saturday and Sunday, so planning a visit during the workweek is important. Its setting also places it within walking distance of dining options mentioned by a customer, which can be convenient when organizing a longer day of errands or appointments.

Customer feedback presents a mixed but useful picture of the experience at Washington Health Nakamura. Several long-term and primary-care patients describe friendly front-desk staff, doctors, and nurses, as well as efficient appointments. One reviewer says the physicians advocate for their patients; another calls the campus organized, well maintained, and supported by helpful, polite staff. These comments point to an environment that some established patients find comfortable and professional rather than intimidating. A reviewer also notes ample parking, a practical consideration for patients driving to the Union City clinic. Individual experiences naturally differ, but these details help set expectations beyond a simple listing.

Clear communication before a visit is especially worthwhile. Public reviews include concerns about administrative interactions, new-patient procedures, billing estimates, and the cost of additional tests. One reviewer specifically reported that walk-ins were not accepted despite information they had encountered elsewhere. Because appointment availability and office policies can change, prospective patients should contact the clinic directly to confirm whether it is accepting new patients, what documentation to bring, and how appointments are scheduled. It is also sensible to ask about expected out-of-pocket costs, insurance-related questions, referrals, tests, and any fees before services are arranged. Taking those steps can help patients make an informed choice and avoid surprises.

With a 2.8 rating from 20 reviews, Washington Health Nakamura has feedback that spans both positive clinical relationships and concerns about office communication. Review perspectives make direct confirmation useful before an initial appointment, particularly when a patient has questions that need specific answers. The clinic may be a fit for new or returning patients who prefer a scheduled, weekday medical-clinic visit in Union City and appreciate a location with reported parking and nearby food options. Patients who value an efficient primary-care routine may find the favorable reports encouraging, while those with detailed coverage or cost questions may benefit from confirming answers in advance. Washington Health Nakamura provides a local option to consider when comparing medical clinics in Union City, CA, with prepared communication helping support a smoother visit.

Very well-organized campus, staff are all extremely helpful and polite, location is well-maintained, and there is plenty of parking. This is part of the WHHS system, and some doctors have limits on patients seen per day plus total active patient load.

I’m not sure why this clinic has so many negative reviews, I’ve had my primary care here for a couple of years and had a positive experience. The front desk staff, doctors, and nurses are all friendly and the appointments are always efficient.

Terrible at telling you what you’ll actually owe out of pocket. They ordered extra tests without explaining the costs, which just made my bill even higher. Feels really unprofessional and honestly kind of like a scam.

This review is only for the new patient process and the administrative staff, and not about the quality of care from healthcare staff. The Nakamura clinic does not take walk-ins, despite what their website or blog posts might state. Because I had asked about walk-ins, I had to listen to the staff complain about me within earshot, and when face to face, they were not helpful to schedule and rearrange for another date. The clinic has limited availability that required scheduling about 5-6 weeks out. I was also going to be out of the country for year-end holidays, so I requested an appointment date after Jan 10. Reception staff suggested dates such as Dec 22, 27, 29, and when I repeated that those days won’t work, I need a date after Jan 10, they complained that I was being difficult to work with. I ended up not following up trying to find primary care here. The clinic itself is clean, with a large waiting room, easy to locate, and plenty of parking located on the corner of Alvarado-Niles and Dowe.

I love Nakamura Clinic. I've been a patient for a very long time and the doctor's really advocate for their patients. Friendly staff. You just might not hate going to the doctor's if you come here. Also, there are some great places to eat walking distance away.
