Wild Orchid Salon - Downtown

My wife had the worst haircut of her life. Her hair got super damaged by the color process and the haircut is terrible. We have been waiting a week for the manager to call us to talk to us but they don’t seem to care. Here a picture of before and after! Over $400 for this!

I really enjoy this salon! I like to go to Mikel, however, all the other stylists are really friendly and I have a great time talking to them while I'm there. I've only had Mikelb do my hair, and he works wonders! I do not have easy hair to work with. It's baby fine and it don't have a lot of it, to top it off, it's curly and chemically damaged, yet Mikel manages to take care of it in a safe and healthy way and give me a cut to keep it looking fresh and nice every time I see him. I always enjoy seeing the other clients and seeing what they have done to their hair and everybody leaves the salon looking fabulous! If you're in need of a new salon in Austin, I highly recommend this Downtown location.

Unfortunately had a horrible experience with a full balayage coloring service from Ashley Kniffin that left my hair with orange / dark yellow chunks despite walking through that I wanted a natural warm blonde tone and looking at a photo from Pinterest during a pre-appointment consultation. Ashley was nice to fix some of the areas after my appointment and I was scheduled to come in for a 3rd time to tone and blend more but my appointment as canceled last minute and I was told I would have to see a different stylist and pay on top of the $400 I already spent to fix it. Now I'm left with hair that needs to be fixed by another salon right before the holidays. Please do yourself a favor and do not make the mistake I did; go to a different salon.

I absolutely love this salon! I have been getting Brazilian Blowouts since 2011. I have never ever had them be as thorough or last as long as the ones ive gotten here! Micah is an absolute sweetheart and hair whisperer! She takes her time, gets to know you, and your hair. Every suggestion she has made for the health of my hair has been incredible! I never feel rushed, and leave beaming! We did a full balayage this time and I was pretty scared. The last time I had professional hair color I went home and cried it was so awful and felt they didnt listen at all ): Micah did an incredible job explaining the reality of the colors and process it would take to achieve a lighter color for my near black hair. Recommend Micah 15/10. Here is before and after, hair is only blow dried and still sooo smooth!
