Xiu SPA

Xiu SPA is a massage spa at 2016 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103, serving people looking for a place to unwind or address everyday muscle tension in Center City. Customer experiences describe hands-on massage, including acupressure-style work and deep tissue massage; one review also mentions hot stones during a session. These details come from individual visits, so it is best to ask the spa directly which services are currently available and what each session includes. For anyone comparing massage spas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Xiu SPA offers a convenient Walnut Street location and a mix of experiences reflected in its customer feedback.

The atmosphere is described differently by different visitors. Some customers found the rooms clean, relaxing, soothing, and inviting, and appreciated the calming decor. Others noted that staff conversation, a phone, or an employee entering during a treatment affected their sense of privacy and relaxation. If quiet, uninterrupted time is important to you, consider mentioning that when you arrive so the staff understand your preferences. Reviews also suggest that communication may sometimes take extra effort, including because of a language barrier, so a clear, simple explanation of what you want can help set expectations before the massage begins.

Pressure and treatment preferences are worth discussing in advance. One visitor praised a therapist’s firm pressure and attention to tension in the back, neck, and arms; another felt the massage did not address their pain. A customer choosing a deep tissue session with hot stones recommended telling the therapist whether you prefer hard, medium, or soft pressure. If you have a specific area of discomfort, sensitivity, or a preferred approach, explain that before the session and speak up if anything feels uncomfortable. Massage is not a substitute for medical care, and customers with significant or persistent pain should consult an appropriate healthcare professional.

Xiu SPA has a 4.2 rating from 40 reviews, with feedback ranging from very positive massage experiences to concerns about treatment quality, interruptions, and pressure to tip. That mix makes it sensible to communicate clearly about the service, pressure, privacy, and payment before beginning. One reviewer noted that the business preferred cash but accepted cards at the time of their visit; confirm current payment options directly, as policies can change. Xiu SPA is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For a quick visit or a longer massage in Philadelphia, calling ahead can help confirm availability and current service details.
