1st Choice Mobile Mechanic

1st Choice Mobile Mechanic is a mobile auto repair shop in Portland, Oregon, serving drivers who need help with vehicle repairs and diagnostics. Its listed address is 9586 N Buchanan Ave, Portland, OR 97203. The mobile service model may be useful when a vehicle is difficult to bring to a repair location; one customer, for example, said a mechanic arrived at their truck within about an hour to repair a driveshaft after a quick response and quote. Response times can vary, so contact the business to confirm availability for your vehicle and location.

Customer accounts describe work ranging from driveshaft repair to diagnostic checks and inspections of trucks being considered for purchase. One reviewer praised a quick diagnosis and repair, while another appreciated a mechanic who explained the car’s condition and what was needed to make it safe to drive. These experiences suggest the service may suit people looking for on-site help, a clearer understanding of a repair, or a vehicle assessment before buying. The reviews do not establish that every service or inspection will include the same checks, so it is sensible to ask what the appointment covers.

Feedback is mixed, and that context matters when choosing an auto repair provider. The business has a listed rating of 4.8 from 152 reviews, and some customers mention professional service, fair pricing, and prompt help. Other reviewers report concerns about missed stored diagnostic codes, disagreements over responsibility for a problem, and charges they felt were higher than expected. Those are individual customer accounts rather than a guarantee of what another customer will experience, but they are useful reminders to discuss the work clearly before it begins.

For a more informed appointment, describe the symptoms, ask which diagnostic steps or repairs are included, and confirm the estimated price and any additional charges before authorizing work. If you are booking a pre-purchase inspection, ask which systems and stored codes will be checked and how the findings will be shared. 1st Choice Mobile Mechanic lists weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday as closed. Calling ahead can help confirm service availability, timing, and whether the requested work can be handled at your location in Portland.
