Public feedback deserves careful consideration. The listing shows a 2.2 rating from 28 reviews. The sample reviews raise concerns about billing accuracy, insurance coverage, refund delays, communication, staff interactions, and appointment wait times. Several reviewers describe experiences at other practices associated with 42 North Dental, rather than clearly identifying this Boston office. Those accounts may not reflect the experience at this specific address, but they are relevant questions to ask when evaluating a dental provider. Consider requesting a written estimate and asking how billing questions or insurance disagreements are handled.
Review samples also mention fillings, Invisalign, orthodontic care, and restorative dental work in connection with affiliated practices. The available information does not confirm that 42 North Dental at 99 Summer St provides each of these services, so verify directly before booking. If you are comparing dentists in Boston, ask what services are performed on-site, whether a consultation is needed, how treatment plans are explained, and what happens if your insurance estimate differs from the final bill. Clear answers can help you decide whether the office fits your needs.
42 North Dental may be worth considering if you are seeking a weekday dental office at a downtown Boston address and can confirm that its services, schedule, and insurance arrangements work for you. Patients who value clear cost explanations may want to discuss fees and coverage before proceeding, in light of the issues described in some public reviews. Call the office to confirm current details and make an informed choice based on your own dental needs. The directory information identifies the location and weekday hours but does not provide a verified service menu or details about the office atmosphere.

WARNING: Corporate Policies Prevent Local Resolution I'm a patient at Dynamic Dental (a 42 North Dental practice). After being overcharged for a dental filling with insurance EOB documentation proving the error, I've experienced: ❌ 3+ weeks of refund delays despite multiple written requests ❌ Explicit instructions ignored (requested refund, they applied credit) ❌ Broken promises from staff ❌ Corporate bureaucracy preventing local offices from resolving simple issues The office manager acknowledged the problem but claimed she can't issue refunds because "42 North Dental corporate controls billing." This means local staff are powerless to resolve patient issues, forcing patients to navigate corporate bureaucracy for basic billing corrections. If 42 North Dental leadership is reading this: Your billing policies and refund processes are damaging your practices' reputations. Office managers are helpless to resolve issues because of your corporate structure. Patients shouldn't need to escalate to corporate for a simple refund. To potential patients: Be aware that billing issues cannot be resolved at the local office level. Corporate approval is required for refunds. Get everything in writing and keep detailed documentation. I'm now filing complaints with: Massachusetts Board of Registration in Dentistry My insurance provider Your corporate policies need improvement.
Do not come for any service they offer, terrible staff, rude, unresponsive when you have question, always late to call you in within my schedule time. I have my invasalign on going even I hate going there, they told me 2k would be covered by my insurance and after 6 mos they told me that my insurance denied it. Now, I will pay more on top of my bills. Overall I can't say anything good about them. I go in S. Willow Manchester, Gentle Dental location.
We are clients of southern ct dental (a member of 42 north) as orthodontist patients- 2 of my children. Started off fine but quickly one of my children was booted from the office because they no longer were taking our insurance- he was transferred as a new patient to another practice in the 42 north dental group. We've been through 3 orthodontist since within the 2 practices. Second child has been through 3 orthodontists with southern ct dental and over the months the appt availability has dwindled down to one Saturday a month. They suggested we go to the ansonia office, a 40 minute drive, if we need more availability. This is just a brief summary of the ridiculous practice.
Not knowing that the Saginaw office was in network I took the paperwork in as I had to in the past, Instead of letting me know they had made changes , I was charged out of network prices, overcharged $150.00 . The insurance agent has been …
If your local practice is bought out by this firm, run away. Terrible service and quality of work will happen. The same procedure billed to insurance at another dental office was $100 cheaper. I found this out after receiving botched restorations. Had to file grievances with my insurance company to have a second opinion done at another practice. This company is greed at its finest, taking advantage of patients and insurance companies.
