Stopped by Irvine for some errands and swung by 99 Ranch Market on the way back. Tried the BBQ pork (char siu) from the deli and it was actually pretty decent. The chicken though… very bland. Back in March, I noticed when you walk in, the whole right side had a big section of popular Taiwanese souvenirs like Taiyang Tang sun cakes and Chia Te pineapple cakes. On the left side, they even had Taiwanese oil noodles, which I don’t usually see at Vietnamese markets, so I grabbed a pack. I’m so used to shopping at Vietnamese supermarkets now. Mostly because around where I live, if you’re looking for Asian groceries, it’s usually either Korean markets like H Mart or Vietnamese supermarkets, so that’s kind of become my baseline. Vietnamese markets are usually cheaper, but if you’re specifically looking for Taiwanese products, the selection is pretty limited. Same with H Mart, they have some but not a lot. If you want the widest selection of Taiwanese items, 99 Ranch is honestly still the most reliable option. Prices do feel a bit higher overall compared to what I’m used to, but the variety and convenience are hard to beat.

The place is good if you're going for a quick shop it lots of main asian ingredients and it has a big variety of food and drinks the only thing I did not like about the store is some of the people who work there they were rude I asked one of them where a item was the person just ignored me and started talking to another person another day I went up to the same employee and he said in a rudely manner "I don't know" but the cashiers are very nice and the other employees were nice as well. I recommend this store for a quick shop

I bought a bag of dried wood ear mushrooms, and the cashier didn’t believe the price that came up after scanning it. After I had already paid, they wouldn’t let me leave and called the manager over to check the price. I literally just took the item from the shelf, paid for it, and tried to leave, but they treated me like I was stealing something. Even if the price had actually been wrong, that would’ve been the store’s pricing mistake! customers shouldn’t have to pay for it with their time and inconvenience.

The go-to spot for all things oriental seasonings and sauces. Inventory is always good, prices are the lowest you'll find and they have a good selection of Chinese vegetables. Even got snow pea leaves for a really good price. Don't tell.

This store’s posted closing time is 10:00 PM. I arrived at 9:50 PM and was stopped at the door and told they were already closed because the checkout lines were “too long.” From the entrance, I could clearly see the lines, and they looked completely normal, not unusually busy at all. I explained that I only needed to grab two quick items, but they still refused to let me in. If the store closes at 10:00 PM, then it should close at 10:00 PM, not earlier based on convenience. Refusing customers during posted business hours shows a lack of professionalism and respect. Based on my experience and other negative reviews, customer service here is extremely poor. Shop here only if you’re prepared for that.
