Acostas Jewelers is a neighborhood jeweler at 2516 Sheridan Blvd in Denver, Colorado (Denver, CO 80214). Customers visit for hands-on jewelry care, including ring sizing, repairs, and cleaning. Reviews describe work on gold and silver pieces, from a delicate ring with a braided design to tarnished silver jewelry. If you are looking for a local jeweler in Denver to discuss a repair or care for a treasured item, Acostas Jewelers is one option to consider.
Repair experiences shared by customers include resizing wedding rings, restoring bent or broken rings, and cleaning a silver necklace that remained tarnished after at-home cleaning. One reviewer said a well-worn 14-karat gold ring looked like new after repair; another appreciated having a silver piece cleaned professionally. Customers also mention work involving different metals, including gold, silver, and alloys, as well as rings with intricate designs. These examples offer a sense of the kinds of jobs customers have brought in, though the right approach depends on the condition and design of each piece.
The reviews point to a personal, owner-led experience: customers mention friendly conversations with Jay and appreciate the opportunity to speak with the jeweler when dropping off or collecting an item. One customer described the pricing as reasonable and noted that a silver cleaning took about a week. Timing and cost can vary by project, so it is sensible to ask what the work involves, how long it may take, and what the estimated price covers before leaving your jewelry. For sizing in particular, confirm the expected fit and any changes to the ring before approving the work.
Customer feedback is mixed, and that context matters. While some reviewers praise careful repairs, affordability, and friendly service, others describe disappointing ring-sizing results and concerns about communication, charges, or work they felt had not been completed. These accounts do not establish what every customer will experience, but they are a reason to discuss the details clearly and make sure the agreed work and price are understood. Acostas Jewelers has a 4.7-star rating from 215 reviews, alongside the positive and critical experiences reflected in that feedback.
Acostas Jewelers is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it is closed Sunday. Its Denver location on Sheridan Boulevard may suit residents looking for a nearby place to ask about repairing a meaningful ring, cleaning silver jewelry, or sizing a piece. Bring the item in for a conversation about its condition and your goals, and clarify the estimate and expected turnaround before deciding how to proceed.

I had a ring sized (down 2.5 sizes) at Acosta Jewelers and had a horrible experience. First off the man (don’t remember his name , elderly short fella) did say it wouldn’t be perfectly round, I was ok with that. But he did not tell me he was going to shave the width of the diameter of my ring and shave the thickness of my ring and loose one of the black diamond of my ring, and steal the gold that was shaved off of my ring, and the gold of the 2.5 sizes it was sized from my ring. This ring was the same width in diameter all around it, the thickness was parallel width and height and depth. It’s my fault for not addressing the circumstances the moment I picked it up, forgive me I was in a hurry to be some where else. In the same breath, what kind of business are you running. This man basically took advantage of me by taking as much gold as he possibly could off my ring, without it causing issues in its structure. And he told me, it would be out of circle so he doesn’t loose any of the diamonds. What does he do loose one of the black diamonds. I know this jewelry store has good reviews and that’s why I chose them. I don’t know maybe the fella was having a bad day, didn’t like the way I looked, or didn’t like me as person, I couldn’t tell ya. But I would not recommend this place. And I told him about a custom LV pendant I was looking to get made. He said he could do it, I’m glad I went elsewhere for that. I could imagine paying over $1,300 for something custom from him, would definitely regret it, from this point of view. Oh yea then he had the audacity to say he didn’t charge me enough, so I tipped him, to show that I was a good customer thinking he took care of me, foolish me. I guess live and learn and keep pushing forward. Thanks for tipping me off Acosta Jewelers, karma is real. What goes around comes back around.
CONMAN This man attempted to charge us twice for work not done. The first time I came to pick up a wedding ring that my husband had him resize. My husband picked him out due the good reviews. He measured my finger and we left the ring. When I came to pick it up, it didn’t fit. When I pointed out that it fit the same , he reluctantly took it back. It fit correctly when I came back to pick it up again. I thought it was a fluke since his reviews were good. So I came back with an earring that needed a pearl glued on. When I came to get pick it up, a sloppy job had been done. He got glue on the outside of it. I asked him to remove the sloppy glue, so he went in the back and used a GRINDER to remove the glue which left scratches on my gold earring. I could hear the grinder running. THEN he said the glue may not hold as the earring post wasn’t long enough. The only payment he accepted was Venmo, so I had to set Venmo up to pay him. He had a bad attitude the whole time and told me he should charge me more (a customer walked in waited and left while this happened). When I got in my car, the pearl promptly popped back off the post…. I paid to have my earring scratched up and to be given a bad attitude in the process. He should have inspected it to begin with and advised me that the post needed to be lengthened and whether or not he was able to do that. Now I have to take it somewhere else to fix the disrepair he did.
I took a very dainty, bent and broken 14k gold ring with a tiny braid design to Acosta Jewelers that I wore for over 10 years and never took off. He fixed it up and made it look new! Very friendly owner and pleased with his work. Definitely take a chance with them for any jewelry repairs!
Acostas was able to clean a piece of silver jewelry that was tarnished and I could not clean with my at-home ultrasonic cleaner - it took about a week and was a reasonable priced. Jay was really friendly and we had a nice chat both when I dropped off and picked up my necklace. Thank you, Jay!
Jay is an exceptionally humble and affordable jeweler, with meticulous attention to detail. His expertise extends to working with various metals like silver, gold, alloys, and intricately designed rings. Compared to other jewelers in the Denver area, who charge five times more and take significantly longer, Jay's turnaround time is remarkably fast, often completing projects in an hour. He is a true jeweler and metalsmith, a rare find in Denver, who doesn't overcharge or inflate the complexity of the work.
