I rarely leave negative reviews. As a small business owner, I understand how damaging they can be and I don’t take that lightly. Unfortunately, what happened today requires transparency. My daughter came in for a full acrylic set with a clear reference photo of what she wanted. Instead of being guided or advised, she was repeatedly pressured into a design she explicitly said she did not want. When she asked for smaller gems, she was told “no” multiple times. The final result looks nothing like the reference photo she brought in. The execution is uneven, bulky, and novice in quality, yet she was charged $90, which is well above the San Diego average for this level of work. The pricing reflects expert-level craftsmanship; the result does not. To make matters worse, she was also charged an additional $3 ATM fee, which was not disclosed upfront. This experience felt like a young client being talked over, upsold, and overcharged without regard for consent or satisfaction. That is not acceptable. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously, especially when servicing younger clients who may feel uncomfortable advocating for themselves. I will be going to The Little Nail Shop in Mission Valley to have the work repaired tomorrow. Casper always makes sure the work is done to the client's satisfaction.

I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted, just green nails with pink flowers. A simple design. The flowers are very sloppy and badly done. Never mind that the design looks nothing like my picture, the flowers are smeared and not even symmetrical. My boyfriend paid over 100 dollars for this. If you want a decent nail design, don’t come here. Literally the ugliest nails ever. I asked the lady multiple times if she needed to look at the picture again and she said no.

I’ve been getting dip powder here for almost 2 years. I love this place! My nails have grown so healthy, long and strong (see pics). The techs are so nice and welcoming, the place is always clean and cozy and the drinks are amazing! The star of the show is my go to tech; Liz! She is AMAZING. She takes her time with you and truly gets your vision! She is lovely as well. I absolutely recommend this place. If Liz isn’t available i recommend June, she is wonderful too!

EDITED: Came in for my appointment and noticed how empty the salon was. Had to ask for my complimentary drink. Explained the simple design I wanted on my fingers (gel) and the color of the regular polish to match for my pedicure. Two ladies worked on me, which was uncomfortable- having to reach my arm across my chest the entire time (not relaxing). The Gel polish and regular polish didn’t match. And the quality of the manicure was terrible (see pictures). Paid nearly $100 for this. Disappointed in this salon. UPDATE: I went back and Ivy fixed my nails and even created winter designs (snowflakes, Christmas tree and snowman). Appreciate her taking the time to understand and correct what had previously been done. The quality is much better. Before and after pictures included.

Adams Ave Nail Bar is the place my family has been coming to for manicures and pedicures for the past few years. The salon changed ownership about a year ago, but all of the same talented technicians are still there, which I really appreciate. The new owners have made a great change by opening 7 days a week — I love that I can now come in on Sundays when I have free time. And their Vietnamese coffee is amazing — honestly, the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place for great service and relaxing vibes.
