The drink menu at Arisan centers on matcha, and customers who appreciate quality matcha will find plenty to enjoy here. The ceremonial matcha is a highlight, offering a noticeably richer and more authentic flavor compared to standard matcha preparations. The matcha-on-matcha latte layers the ingredient for a deeper taste, while the Matcha Einspanner Latte brings a creamy, indulgent twist with its whipped cream topping. For those looking beyond matcha, the Mango Passion Fruit Oolong Tea is a popular fruity option that balances sweetness with the natural character of oolong. The bakery selection complements the drink menu nicely, with items that customers describe as fresh, soft, and well-made — a pleasant pairing with any tea or coffee order.
The atmosphere at Arisan is cozy and modern, with a clean, inviting interior that feels both cute and relaxed. It is the kind of place where you can comfortably read, catch up with a friend, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a good drink. The shop is open every day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which makes it convenient whether you are an early riser looking for a morning cup or someone who prefers an evening visit. During busier times — particularly weekends and evenings — the shop can draw a line, so a little patience may be needed during peak hours.
Located at 979 Story Road Unit 7012 in San Jose, California, Arisan sits within the well-known Vietnam Town area, a neighborhood recognized for its concentration of Vietnamese-owned restaurants, shops, and cafes. With over 200 reviews and a solid rating from the community, the tea house has established itself as a familiar name for anyone exploring the local food and drink scene along Story Road.

Had an amazing experience at Arisan Tea & Coffee House in Vietnam Town, San Jose! The drinks were absolutely delicious, refreshing, and full of flavor. Their bakery items were also super tasty — fresh, soft, and perfectly made. The atmosphere is cozy, modern, and a great place to relax, meet friends, or get some work done. Friendly staff and excellent service made the experience even better. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you love quality tea, coffee, and pastries!
Ceremonial matcha and you can really tasted the difference!!! We had matcha on matcha latte and einspanner latte! They were both excellent! I think the cafe feels cozy and cute. I haven’t tried other drinks yet but I can’t wait to make more trips to get quality drinks here soon. Both drinks were excellent! 10 out of 10!
I came around 7 PM on a Friday night, and there was a long line since they’re celebrating all October with lots of cute gifts and free toppings for any drink. I ordered the Matcha Einspanner Latte and the Mango Passion Fruit Oolong Tea — both were really good! The matcha and tea flavors were strong and pure, just the way I like them. Definitely worth the wait!
I’ve been to Arisan Tea a few times now and usually go for their matcha-on-matcha, which has been excellent on my past visits. This time around (Sunday noon), the matcha flavor didn’t stand out as much as I remember—it felt a bit more muted. That said, since my previous experiences were consistently spot on, I’m thinking this might have just been a one-off. When it hits, their matcha drinks are definitely a highlight. I also tried their Dongding oolong milk tea with boba. The tea flavor itself is strong and fragrant, which I appreciated, but I’d recommend going with less sweetness since the regular level was a bit too sweet for my taste. The boba was soft and fresh, though not quite as chewy compared to other places. Overall, Arisan Tea is still a solid spot in the plaza, especially if you’re a matcha fan. I’ll definitely be back and would still recommend it for the quality and flavors they usually deliver.
