Sign in to reviewThis is one of the best pastry shops I have been to. They have a wide variety of sweets and desserts. The have small deserts to small cakes to big cakes to boxes with desserts in them. The staff is also pretty nice. I highly recommend coming here
We had a very disappointing and concerning experience with Asaal Pastry. On Friday night, we purchased a roulette pastry, and after eating it we realized it was expired — the cream had gone sour (the filling tasted spoiled). This is a serious food safety issue. We went back Saturday afternoon with the pastry and receipt to ask for a return or refund. The staff refused and said they “don’t usually accept returns because you already ate it.” When we explained that we only noticed it was spoiled after tasting it, they told us we would have to come back on Monday to speak to a manager. When we asked if they could call the manager, we were told “it doesn’t work that way.” No effort was made to address the health concern or take responsibility for selling expired food. Selling expired pastries is unacceptable, and the way this was handled was very unprofessional. This is a public health concern, and we are considering reporting this incident to the California Department of Public Health.
Been here multiple times and always loved it. I often get the zoolmia for large friends and family gatherings and they taste great - very sweet but also very similar to Indian jalebi. The folks who run the shop have always been very friendly. The items are all reasonably priced. Went most recently to get something for Mother's Day and they had a bunch of nice looking gift boxes. They're happy to tell you what's in each product and help you pick something for your taste, like if you want more snacky, less sweet. Parking lot gets crowded on weekends and I also find that the parking spaces are very tight there.
This place has been around since I’ve been a kid and after having been away for a while, it’s nice to see that it still stands despite all of the new renovations that plaza is going through. The prices are insanely affordable. I don’t know how they maintain these prices. The treats taste perfect. Might be on the sweeter side for some palates, but I love it. I hope they continue to stay in business for many years to come.
I have been a regular customer for over 20 years. Many new places around have come and gone but this place has kept its quality.
