B Sweet Bistro & Bakery is a Creole restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana, at 704 N Rampart St, New Orleans, LA 70116. It brings together the comfort of a neighborhood bistro and the pleasure of a bakery, with dishes and sweets that give visitors a flavorful introduction to local food. With a 4.7-star rating from 1,152 reviews, it is a popular stop for travelers seeking a welcoming meal and distinctive New Orleans favorites.

Gumbo is a recurring recommendation from guests, including home-style gumbo and seafood gumbo, both praised for their rich flavor and careful seasoning. The menu also includes shrimp and grits, and catfish Mardi Gras, a dish reviewers highlight for its well-seasoned fish. For something less familiar, guests mention savory seafood-stuffed beignets, a flavorful twist on a New Orleans staple. Crawfish Mardi Gras bisque is another dish noted by visitors. These customer favorites offer plenty to explore, whether you are arriving with a specific craving or deciding what to try after you get there.

The bakery side makes B Sweet a natural choice for a sweet treat as well as a meal. Visitors have come in to try its King Cake, described as cinnamon-swirled dough with white icing and a bread- or brioche-like texture. That detail is useful if you are expecting a traditional cake texture: customer reviews describe a softer, bread-style pastry. Together, the bakery offerings and savory Creole dishes make the business appealing to people who want to share a meal and sample something sweet in the same visit.

Hospitality is part of what guests remember. Reviewers describe the owner as friendly, welcoming, and kind, and one group even held a book-club meeting during a New Orleans trip. The warm, approachable feel suits couples looking for a relaxed meal, friends catching up, visiting families, and small groups wanting to gather over local flavors. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a local choosing a casual place to eat, B Sweet offers an inviting way to enjoy familiar comfort food alongside less everyday specialties.

If you are searching for Creole food in New Orleans, plan your visit around the posted schedule and consider arriving with room for both a savory favorite and a bakery treat. This is a must visit if you're in New Orleans! We're from California and 3 different Uber/Lyft drivers and 2 different hotel staff all recommended B Sweets for home style gumbo (which was all my fiance wanted on his first trip to New Orleans). Nothing disappointed! I had the shrimp n grits and the shrimp were super tender and full of flavor! And the gumbo was so good that my fiancé ordered a second bowl immediatelyafter cleaning his bowl! and he added on seafood beignets!😂😂 I had to come edit my post because I took a bite of the beignet and ended up eating the whole thing!!! OMG these are delicious!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Absolutely loved this place!! The owner was so friendly and welcoming. I had the catfish Mardi Gras and savory seafood stuff beignets. The beignets were AMAZING!! Unlike anything I’ve ever had before! Full of so many flavors that went together so perfectly. 100000/10. The catfish in the catfish Mardi Gras was so good and so crispy! The crawfish & corn bisque was not my favorite only bc it had a very sweet taste to it that I wasn’t expecting. The flavors were good otherwise. We didn’t get a photo but my mom had gumbo and loved it!! Overall we had a great experience and would definitely eat here again!

We heard B Sweet Bistro & Bakery had King Cake, and we wanted to give it a try. It’s a cinnamon-swirled dough with white icing. It’s more like a bread/brioche-style pastry rather than a cake texture. We also tried their Crawfish Mardi Gras Bisque (I think there was a typo on the menu - it said catfish but had crawfish in it), and oh my goodness, it was amazing! My sister and I wanted to order more afterwards since it was so good. Creamy, rich, flavourful with a kick of spicy seasoning, a tad sweet from the pieces of corn, and sweet plus slightly salty from the crawfish. *This was during Mardi Gras week.*

My book club traveled from Houston to New Orleans for our ReadTreat, and we had the pleasure of hosting one of our meetings here. From the moment we arrived, the owner was incredibly welcoming and kind, which made the experience even more …

Baby… THIS is where y’all need to be.. Hunny, I don’t even eat fish, but the catfish is seasoned to absolute perfection. The gumbo is rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, so if you like your food done right ORDER IT. Don’t eat pork? No worries the seafood gumbo is just as fire. The house-made lemonade pairs perfectly with any dish. Like… chef’s kiss. Now let’s talk seafood beignets a MUST-HAVE. Any Google review praising them is 100% accurate. No exaggeration. And baby… the Banana Foster and Sweet Potato beignets?! Absolutely amazing. Make sure you eat them hot or warm for the full experience. The customer service was top-tier, and the food was so good we came back for round two. That should tell you everything.
