Banh Cuon Hoa #2 is a Vietnamese restaurant in Houston, Texas, located at 11169 Beechnut St, where the kitchen leans into the dish that gives the place its name. As several guests note, this is an authentic banh cuon spot, with soft, steamy rice rolls made fresh and served alongside fish sauce that regulars describe as on point. If you have been craving the real thing, this is a dependable place to find it.
The menu reaches well beyond banh cuon. Diners single out the Banh Cuon Dac Biet, the palm-sized banh beo, the banh khot served on a platter with herbs and vegetables, and harder-to-find dishes like bun rieu and canh bun. One reviewer pointed out that this is one of the few places where they can reliably order bun rieu, which speaks to the kitchen's range. The food is consistently called fresh and full of flavor, the kind you would expect from a legit Vietnamese kitchen.
The space itself is described as clean and comfortable, often not too crowded, which makes it easy for a relaxed lunch or an unhurried dinner. There is also a friendly, down-to-earth energy here, with one guest fondly mentioning the granny in the kitchen making the banh. For takeout fans, the restaurant caries dry goods and frozen items to purchase to go, so you can bring a little of the flavor home.
With a 3.9 rating across more than 400 reviews, Banh Cuon Hoa #2 is a solid choice for families, students, and anyone in the Bechnut area looking for traditional Vietnamese comfort food. Sign in to reviewSuper authentic banh cuon style restaurant (hence the name). Everything was full of flavor you would expect from a legit Vietnamese restaurant. Order everything on the menu! They even have dry goods and frozen goods to purchase to go. Can’t go wrong here!
Love this place and the granny in the kitchen making the banh people is hilarious. Food is fresh and probably the only place I get bun rieu at also. Nuoc mam was on point and the banh khot is A1.
Just hit up Banh Cuon Hoa #2 in Houston, and man, it was awesome 5/5 stars all the way! The Banh Cuon Dac Biet was legit, with those soft, steamy rice rolls stuffed with tasty fillings and paired with nice tasty fish sauce. The Canh Bun was on point too, super flavorful broth and noodles that were just right. Food came out crazy fast, and the prices? Total steal for how good and filling it was. Chill vibes, great grub, definitely going back!
Ordered takeout so can't comment on the other reviews' service concerns. The banh beo are not the usual small ones you usually get, but each one is palm-sized. The banh Cuon were good. The bun Bo hue's flavor was a bit lackluster but overall still enjoyable.
Was craving Vietnamese Crepes and mini crepes. Found this restaurant online. The restaurant is nice and clean, not too crowded. They have a pretty good menu selections but I went for the banh khot or mini crepes with shrimp. The banh khot came out in a platter wit vegetables and herbs. The fish sauce in a carafe on the side. The banh khot was crispy and creamy from the coconut milk. The fish sauce was a perfect compliment with balance of sweet and savory. The meal was simple and satisfying. It definitely hit the spot. The price was reasonable and the service was good. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
