Banh mi is the signature draw, and reviews mention several choices, including the traditional cold-cut sandwich, chicken banh mi, pork banh mi, and the #1 combo. Diners describe the sandwiches as large, with crisp bread noted in a review of the chicken version. Flavor preferences can differ: one customer found a sandwich’s profile lighter than expected, while others praised the pork and enjoyed their meals. There is more to explore beyond the sandwiches. Reviews mention goi cuon served with peanut sauce, pho, and a soup combo featuring a large bowl with plenty of steak; one diner said the portion was ample enough to share. These comments point to a menu that can work for different appetites, from a lighter roll or sandwich to a filling soup meal. If you are visiting with a friend, a large soup may be one option to consider sharing, while a banh mi offers an easy individual meal.

The setting appears practical and relaxed, with counter ordering and kiosks rather than a more formal dining experience. That makes Banh Mi Huong Que a fit for solo diners, friends grabbing lunch, or visitors who want to try a Vietnamese sandwich while walking around Boston. The restaurant has a 4.4 rating from 430 reviews, offering a broad snapshot of customer experiences while leaving room for individual tastes. Was walking in Boston and saw this place and decided to give it a go. You can order at the counter or do it yourself on the 2 kiosk there. We got, of course, the #1 combo, that's the only real way to judge a banh mi shop. The sandwich itself was good. I felt the flavor profile was on the lighter side. I prefer a bit sweeter Mayo, but thats just me and the pickled veggies were ok. The fresh shrimp roll was good paired with the peanut sauce. Also got thai ice tea and Vietnamese coffee. The coffee had the "taste" you expect but it wasn't as bold as other Vietnamese coffees I've had, and again that's just my preference. Overall the food was good, I would try it again, but its not the best I've had.

Wow, massive bánh mì sandwiches, incredible price. The banh mi pork was fantastic. We will come here again! The Gỏi cuốn was really nice, great peanut sauce. Cant wait to come back!

Boston, MA (Chinatown) - I have eaten many Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches in my life so when I passed by this restaurant I decided to order the traditional cold cut banh mi sandwich for dinner. I thought it was just ok. If you’ve had this from the shop called Ba Le, which specializes in banh mi sandwiches (it is really good), you’ll understand the difference. The baguette here was very thick and dense so it took some effort to chew haha. A banh mi should typically include cucumbers and shredded pickled carrots and daikon (radish), but they skimped on the cucumber and pickled carrots and I did not see any shredded daikon thus the sandwich lacked the crunch and tanginess. Meat quantity was ok but not enough relative to the thickness of the baguette. Also, it lacked some flavour, maybe should add some or more aromatic soy sauce. I would not order from here again if they can’t even get the traditional sandwich right.

Banh Mi Huong Que is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant located at 696 Washington Street in Boston. Their main specialty is bánh mì, though they also serve pho and other traditional dishes. I ordered the chicken bánh mì, and it was excellent, the bread was perfectly crispy, and the chicken and vegetables were flavorful. It reminded me of the bánh mì I used to eat in Hanoi. The service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend it !!!

I've walked next to this place and made it inside. I've took the soup combo and it was so so soooooo good! They put so much steak and the bowl is giant (absolutely good for 2 people). The coffee was really special.
