Beanery of Alameda ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars) We stopped in for coffee and really enjoyed our experience. We ordered the Mayan Mocha and the Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha. The Mayan Mocha was excellent—the spice added real depth and made it stand out. The Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha was definitely sweet (as expected), but very good if that’s what you’re in the mood for. I also really appreciate that they offer organic, fair-trade coffee and plenty of milk alternatives. My husband had oat milk, I had coconut milk—both worked well. We split a lox bagel, and even later in the day—when only a few bagel options were left—it was still very fresh and satisfying, especially compared to some other food we’d had elsewhere recently. That was a pleasant surprise. We’ve seen this place quite crowded before (it’s attached to a grocery store we shop at), but it wasn’t busy when we were there. There was plenty of seating. The table we chose was fine, though we did notice several other tables that looked like they hadn’t been wiped down yet—likely just an end-of-day cleanup gap, but worth noting. The vibe was relaxed and comfortable. Customer service wasn’t over-the-top friendly, but it was polite and welcoming—we were greeted when we walked in, which matters to me. If I’m going to spend money on something I could technically make at home, that basic human acknowledgment makes a difference. Overall, it was a really nice date-style stop: good drinks, solid food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a sunny January day to enjoy afterward. This feels like a place we’d come back to.

Go-to spot for excellent coffee and sandwiches. The Veggie Organic sandwich and Turkey Pesto Panini are highlights. Good amount of seating, and you can browse Alameda Marketplace while you wait!

I ordered an iced matcha latte, and it was too sweet for me to drink, even though I didn't ask for any sugar. And I was sitting there at 3pm when they closed, and one of the workers kicked me out rudely.

This one’s a sleeper! The lattes are always perfect, and every time i’ve ordered a sandwich it has been surprisingly tasty and fresh!

The food here is quite good and atmosphere is pretty standard Cafe. But the service is incredibly slow. My partner and I came in this morning and it took forever to get our order. When it was finally called we found they forgot to make my husband's drink all together. Honestly unless you are already going to Natural Grocery, just go down the street to the Local or Alameda Bagels.
