Ben's Japanese Auto Clinic

Ben's Japanese Auto Clinic is an auto repair shop on NE Sandy Boulevard in Portland, Oregon, at 10323 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR 97220. The shop has a 4.7-star rating from 135 reviews. For local drivers looking for a Portland repair shop that communicates clearly and explains its findings, those details offer a useful starting point when deciding where to bring a vehicle.

Reviews describe practical, varied service rather than one signature repair. A Toyota RAV4 owner reported completing a 120,000-mile service inspection in one day and getting help identifying an unfamiliar noise. A Corolla driver said a small issue with a door-trim plug was fixed the same day, while a Prius owner appreciated an honest diagnosis after bringing the car in to investigate a sound. Another customer described extensive work on a 1992 Toyota 4Runner with warped heads. Together, these examples suggest the shop may be worth considering for maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on Japanese makes, while the right service and turnaround will depend on the vehicle and the issue.

Communication and the customer experience come up repeatedly in the reviews. Customers mention direct explanations, updates during the repair process, and staff who took time to answer questions. One reviewer specifically appreciated feeling comfortable at a new repair shop, and another said the pricing felt reasonable and transparent. These are individual customer accounts, not guarantees, but they give prospective customers a clearer sense of what other drivers have valued: knowing what the shop found, understanding the repair, and having a chance to ask questions before deciding how to proceed.

Ben's Japanese Auto Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and closed Sunday. One reviewer recommends booking several weeks ahead for an appointment, so contacting the shop in advance may be helpful, especially if your schedule is tight. It may suit Portland-area owners of Toyota, Subaru, and other Japanese vehicles who want maintenance or help investigating a concern, as well as drivers who value straightforward communication. Before visiting, confirm availability and discuss your vehicle's symptoms, service needs, and timing directly with the shop.
