Beverly Barber Shop is a longtime barber shop in Los Angeles, CA, serving clients from its location at 128 N Western Ave in Koreatown. With a 4.4 rating from 40 reviews, this neighborhood spot stands out for a more traditional approach to men’s grooming. Customers often mention Mr. Lee by name and describe him as a skilled, detail-focused barber who takes real pride in his craft. For people searching for a dependable haircut in central Los Angeles, Beverly Barber Shop offers a straightforward, old-school experience centered on technique rather than trends.

What many clients remember most is the shop’s scissor-only cutting style. Several reviewers specifically note that Mr. Lee uses scissors for both cutting and trimming, and that his method feels careful, precise, and personal. That kind of technique appeals to customers who value clean shape, balance, and attention to detail over a rushed appointment. Reviews also highlight reasonable pricing, making Beverly Barber Shop a practical choice for regular haircuts in Los Angeles. Some loyal customers say they have been returning for years, which speaks to the consistency people hope to find in a local barber.

The atmosphere comes across as classic mom-and-pop: simple, direct, and rooted in neighborhood service. Reviewers describe the people here as kind, and repeat customers seem to appreciate the personal familiarity that comes with visiting an independent shop. At the same time, customer feedback makes it clear that this is a business where scheduling matters. Multiple reviews recommend making an appointment in advance, and a few visitors mention frustration when walking in or arriving on days when the shop was closed or booked for appointments only. That makes Beverly Barber Shop especially well suited for people who prefer to plan ahead rather than rely on last-minute availability.

For locals in Los Angeles, California, as well as travelers wanting a traditional barber shop near Koreatown, Beverly Barber Shop may be a good fit if you appreciate experienced hands and a no-fuss haircut. The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while Monday and Tuesday are closed. If you are looking for a neighborhood barber who is known for careful scissor work, fair prices, and a loyal base of returning clients, Beverly Barber Shop offers a grounded, familiar option in Los Angeles, CA.

I do love mom-and-pop stores. I was traveling from out of state and decided to try this place for a haircut. The barber uses only scissors to cut and trim hair as other review mentioned, and he takes pride in his technique. I was satisfied with the overall result, which was decent and reasonably priced compared to other places. I visited around 09:30 AM and a few people started arriving shortly after. I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. Overall, it was a pleasant unique experience in 2025.

Mr Lee is a fantastic barber! I’ve been going to him ever since I moved here 5 years ago. His technique is phenomenal and for an unbeatable price. Make sure to schedule an appointment. They are lovely and very kind people!

Mr. Lee only uses scissors to cut your hair and amazingly detailed in his cut. OG Korean barber! I am lucky to have found him. Been with him for couple of years now. Amazing price as well. Make sure you make an appointment, though.

I called in Monday Labor Day. It said the voicemail is not set up. So I drove out with the chance that it's closed. It was closed. No big deal. I kinda expected it. Just to find out that Friday today is BM appointments only. I drove here twice half hour each way and there isn't anything he will do for me. I was really hoping I could make this my new barber. The information on here is incomplete and no matter how good of a barber he is. Having a business line that's not working. And not having clearly posted that Friday is appointments only is unprofessional. I recommend you get a business card to make an appointment. But don't risk driving here without having been able to reach the owner. In closing I wasn't able to get a haircut. This review isn't about the quality of the haircut but the unprofessionalism of the business owner. If you are aware of this you can accordingly plan!
