About

Bình Minh Restaurant is listed on FindALoco in San Jose, CA with address, phone, hours, and map location. Common services and related keywords include Vietnamese Restaurant.

Bình Minh Restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant in San Jose, CA, located at 2155 Story Rd. Reviewers often note that it is not an ordinary pho place; the menu leans heavily toward goat dishes and Vietnamese drinking-food classics, which gives the restaurant a more focused identity than many general-purpose Vietnamese spots. For people searching locally, that means Bình Minh stands out when you want something traditional, hearty, and a little different from the usual noodle-house expectations. That makes it a practical choice for diners who already know they want goat, or for anyone curious about a narrower slice of Vietnamese home-style cooking. It is the kind of place you bookmark when you want a specific style of meal rather than a broad menu.

The signature items mentioned by guests include goat soup with vegetables, steamed goat, grilled goat, rolled ground goat, and ground chopped goat. Duck blood dishes are also called out as favorites by returning diners. These dishes suggest a kitchen focused on bold, savory flavors and a style of eating that feels deeply rooted in Vietnamese comfort food. Reviews also note that goat meat may be served on the bones, which is useful context for first-time visitors who want to know what to expect before ordering. If you are coming for a filling meal rather than a light lunch, this menu has plenty to explore, and the dishes seem to give the restaurant a clear specialty. That kind of focus is useful for searchers who want a restaurant with a very clear food identity.

The restaurant also carries the feel of a long-running neighborhood business. One review says it has been open for more than 30 years, while another notes that the space has recently had a facelift and looks more modern, even if some finishing touches were still in progress. That mix of established history and updated details gives the dining room a practical, lived-in character instead of a polished chain look. Customers also mention a friendly owner, which adds to the sense that this is a place built on repeat visits and local familiarity rather than big-brand formality. The result is a space that feels familiar to regulars and approachable to first-time visitors alike.

With a 4-star rating from 70 reviews, Bình Minh Restaurant appears to have earned attention from local diners, even though individual experiences can vary. Parking may be limited at peak times, so planning ahead can make the visit easier. The restaurant is open afternoons and evenings most days and is closed on Tuesday, which suits both early dinner plans and later meal runs. For diners in San Jose who want a Vietnamese restaurant with a clear specialty, a casual atmosphere, and a menu centered on goat and other distinctive dishes, Bình Minh Restaurant is a noteworthy local option. If you come with a craving for Vietnamese goat dishes, this is the kind of neighborhood restaurant that makes sense to bookmark.

This place just got a new face lift and although it feels 90% done inside (see the ceiling panels they used, shows design of the product) the rest of this place is modern. The food is not my cup of tea but I went more for my wife to eat because she hasn’t had this since Vietnam. The taste she said is just like Vietnam which is a plus. The service was quick and attentive even when we sat all the way in the back. This is more of a party restaurant because it’s drinking food, so be prepared for it to be very loud.

***This is not an ordinary phò-place*** The menu mainly consists of goat dishes. The goat soup with vegetables (salad leaves) we had was rich, and flavorful. Note that the goat meat will be served on the bones. The venue is dingy (the place has been open for more than 30 years) - and will relocate to a new address shortly.

First time here and ordered the stewed goat and told the waiter I wanted #7 that was $18. Ended up charged me for the $29 goat hotpot and refused to let the waiter out to confirm. They wouldn’t admit that it was their fault. Terrible attitude. Would’ve stayed there to confront if I wasn’t in a hurry. Won’t go again.
