Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is a dental school in Boston, MA, at 635 Albany St, Boston, MA 02118. It combines dental education with patient care, so visits take place in a teaching environment where students develop clinical skills with faculty involvement. Patient accounts describe staff and students who are welcoming, patient, and willing to listen, as well as professors who guide students as they train. For people seeking dental care in Boston and who are comfortable receiving care in a school setting, this may be a useful option to consider.

Reviews describe experiences with teeth cleaning, wisdom tooth removal, and individualized treatment plans. Some patients praise the dental procedures themselves, noting kind and patient students and feeling comfortable during appointments. Others describe professional, clean, caring interactions and say they value being heard and feeling safe. Follow-ups, callbacks, and appointment reminders are also mentioned positively by one reviewer. These accounts offer practical context, but treatment needs and experiences can differ; prospective patients should discuss their concerns and options directly with the clinic team.

The teaching-clinic setting may suit patients who appreciate being part of a learning environment and having students involved in care. Reviews note that faculty help students build their skills, while patients describe staff taking time to listen. At the same time, feedback is mixed. Some reviewers report difficult billing and insurance reimbursement experiences, and one describes disagreement about a proposed treatment plan and what care they were ready to receive. It may help to confirm the planned procedures, how decisions are made, estimated costs, and insurance paperwork before proceeding, and to ask questions if a recommendation does not match your goals.

The school is listed as open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; it is closed Sunday. Its listed address is 635 Albany St in Boston. The available rating is 3.4 from 252 reviews, reflecting a range of patient experiences rather than a guarantee of what an individual visit will be like. If you are comparing dental schools or clinics in Boston, consider whether the teaching-clinic format, proposed care, scheduling, and billing process are a good fit for you.

The actual dental procedures were wonderful. I had my teeth cleaned and my wisdom teeth removed; all of the students were fantastic, kind, and very patient. The billing, on the other hand, has been genuinely horrific. I was told that I needed to submit a bill for reimbursement with my insurance, then was provided a bill without a tax identification number, was yelled at on the phone when I asked for a corrected bill, at which point the financial department suddenly *could* submit the claim directly to my insurance. The claim that was submitted to my insurance was $500 more expensive than the initial bill because the school changed one of the codes to a significantly more expensive procedure. My insurance paid the school directly, but the school has been unresponsive to my requests for a refund of my initial $500 payment and recently sent me a new bill that does not take my insurance payment into account at all, and, three months after the procedure, appears to change what services where actually provided.

Very professional, welcoming, clean, caring and take time to listen to patient. I always feel comfortable and safe going to my appointment. I trust this place very much! My teeth fell healthy since I came to this school. The professors are very good with their students in training their skills! Despite all this, I have to finish by saying big thanks to Klaudia for giving me a healthy smile that I have been waiting for so long! You're an amazing dentist!

Overall - excellent. BU is on top of things more with follow-ups, call backs and reminders compared to competitors. It appears they have a greater capacity and they have better infrastructure. …

Heard good things about dental school, but when I received my treatment plan, I wasn't a part of the treatment plan, refused to do treatment do to me only being ready to get my bottom teeth partial, but wasn't ready to get all my teeth removed. Supervisor stated they will not work on my bottom partial without me removing all my top teeth, so be prepared to do the treatment plan they want, even if you don't want them removed. I have no cavities, no pain Very much disappointed
