Botta Motor Works is an auto repair shop at 2242 N Williams Ave in Portland, Oregon. Its customer reviews describe a repair team that works with premium vehicles, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche models. For drivers looking for an independent shop in Portland to investigate a complicated car problem or handle a range of repairs, Botta Motor Works may be worth considering. The business has a listed rating of 4.8 stars from 207 reviews; individual experiences can vary, so it is sensible to discuss your vehicle’s needs, the proposed work, and the estimate directly with the shop.
Customers have shared specific examples of the work they brought to Botta. One reviewer said the team made room for a same-day visit for an urgent BMW X3 issue and inspected the vehicle thoroughly. Another described a Mercedes-AMG convertible roof problem that had not been resolved during a week at a dealership; the reviewer said Botta fixed it within hours. A separate Porsche 997 owner praised the shop’s care across several services and said the car was returned looking like new inside and out. These accounts point to experience with vehicle concerns that may call for careful inspection and model-specific attention, though they do not guarantee a particular repair outcome or turnaround time.
Communication is a recurring theme in positive reviews. Customers describe staff as clear, professional, understanding, and helpful about parts, timing, and cost. One reviewer with a convertible-top issue said parts were the main source of delay and appreciated that the shop got started promptly; they also said communication helped save time and money. For owners managing an urgent problem, a specialized repair, or a repair decision after visiting a dealership, those details can help set expectations. Ask what the inspection covers, whether parts need to be ordered, how the shop will keep you updated, and what costs require approval before work proceeds.
Reviews are not uniformly positive. One customer alleged that two high-end cars were damaged and that the resulting charges exceeded $4,000, while another Porsche owner mentioned becoming frustrated after an unrelated issue arose shortly after a visit, although the reviewer said the shop still offered to help. These accounts are important context alongside the favorable experiences, and they underscore the value of documenting your vehicle’s condition, confirming the scope and price of authorized repairs, and raising concerns promptly. If you are comparing auto repair shops in Portland, Botta Motor Works is a local option with customer-reported experience on luxury and performance vehicles, at its North Williams Avenue location. Wow everyone needs to know about this place. Fantastic mechanic. Super clear, honest communication. These are very good people who know what they’re doing and are running a great business. I called with an urgent issue with my bmw x3 and was able to bring it in same day. They inspected it thoroughly, diagnosed the issue, did the work, and got me out the door that day with the car good as new. They even offered to give me a ride home while they worked on it. I really like these guys and am definitely going to be coming here again for future work / maintenance on my car. Thank you so much again!
Everyone at Botta motors are professional and highly educated to all high end cars. I had my GTC AMG MERCEDES at the Mercedes dealership for a week and they couldn’t fix the problem with my convertible roof. Within hours it was fixed and I was back on the road. If you have an exotic car in Oregon or Washington take my advice and have Casey and his crew get you back on the road.
Botta took great care of me and my Porsche 997 across a range of services, and the car came back looking like new—inside and out. They were highly recommended by someone I trust, and now I see why. When something unrelated broke just after my visit, I got a little grouchy, but they still offered to take a look. That level of customer service goes a long way. I’ll definitely be bringing my cars back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends. Thank you, Botta!
Don’t be fooled by how nice these people seem to be. They damaged two of my high-end cars & charged me over $4000. left me with more damage afterwards. The office manager is a really nice guy, but he can’t manage for the incompetent …
I had a big problem with My convertible top after getting my car serviced at the dealer in Wilsonville. Botta was fantastic and understanding from the start. Parts were the time killer so they got right on it. Not only did the communication save time but money. For me it's important to find someone that I can trust. Botta won my trust and that's not easy. They are fantastic, I would recommend you take your exotic there. I will make the drive. I live in Salem.
