British Motor Care is an auto repair shop at 5114 NE 42nd Ave in Portland, Oregon. The shop is a local option for owners who want knowledgeable help caring for British classic cars, including MG models mentioned by customers. Reviews describe a welcoming team and attentive work, with customers bringing vehicles in for an assessment of their mechanical condition, brake repairs, and other needed mechanical or cosmetic attention. If you have a British classic that needs a careful look, British Motor Care may be worth contacting to discuss the car and its needs before you visit.

Owners describe seeking help with MGBs, MGAs, and other British classics, whether they have recently bought a car or want to keep a longtime favorite in good condition. One customer brought in a newly purchased 1977 MGB for mechanical and cosmetic repairs, while another asked for an overall mechanical assessment of an MG. A customer with a recently purchased, frame-off-restored MGA also came in to have remaining issues addressed. These experiences suggest a shop familiar with the particular needs of classic British vehicles, rather than a place customers choose only for routine, one-size-fits-all work.

The reviews point to a straightforward repair experience: customers mention receiving a cost estimate, having identified work completed, and being pleased with the results. In one account, a car needed brake work, and the customer said the brakes worked very well after the repair; the team also handled a few other small items that needed attention. Other reviewers appreciate quick, quality service and describe the staff as helpful, friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. Individual repair needs and timing can vary, so ask the shop directly about your vehicle, the work involved, and an estimate.

The atmosphere customers describe is approachable and collaborative. People mention being welcomed by Jason, Chad, and the wider crew, and one customer appreciated seeing several team members working together on a car. For owners who feel attached to a classic, that kind of communication and care can matter as much as getting a repair completed. The shop may be a good fit for MG and British-car enthusiasts, recent classic-car buyers looking for help sorting out issues, and drivers seeking a mechanical overview or repairs for a vehicle they want to preserve. Customer reviews give British Motor Care a 4.9 rating across 46 reviews.

British Motor Care is open Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and closed Monday and Tuesday, according to the listed hours. It is located on NE 42nd Avenue in Portland, making the address useful when planning a visit or arranging to bring in a vehicle. Since classic-car concerns differ from one car to another, contact the shop to confirm availability and discuss what your car needs. Whether you are checking the condition of an MG, addressing brake concerns, or looking for experienced attention for a British classic, the customer feedback highlights a friendly team and focused care in Portland.

Transported my British Classic to the PNW, and needed to find a talented shop to help me keep her in top condition and well cared-for. British Motor Care was recommended by local club members, and it’s obvious why: Jason, Chad, and everyone else there could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They took the time to thoroughly review my car, with me present so they could show me and explain everything that they were doing and examining. They helped identify some problems that I had been blissfully unaware of. Afterwards, they went through and fixed everything that was broken, even providing me with the replaced components as proof that the work had been done, and that the old bits were faulty. The price was fair, and they were on target with their estimate for both price and time. The car has been running perfectly since it left their care. I’ll be bringing my vintage Abingdon steel here on the regular for maintenance and repairs, and I recommend anyone else seeking skilled surgeons expert in 20th century vehicles from Old Blighty come here too.

I took my MG to British Auto Care for an overview of the overall mechanical condition. We found that it needed brake work and after the cost estimate they got right to work. When the job was finished the brakes worked GREAT plus they fixed a few other little things that needed attention. The estimate was right on to the penny. I could not be more pleased with the work done.

MGB's are the Happiest Cars on Earth and my just-bought 1977 MGB now thinks BMC is Disneyland! It came in needing some mechanical and cosmetic fixin's and Chad and his Wonder Crew have done their magic. I actually had up to three people and six hands working on the car at the same time -- go anywhere else and try to get that level of attention for your car! Got two shout-outs and a thumbs up on the way home!! My personal and sincere thank you's to Chad & The Wonder Crew.

Fast, quality service with a smile. Fun, knowledgeable team. Specialized work all completed in a day for a reasonable expense: who does that?

Recently purchased a "frame-off restored" MGA. The car still had issues and I needed help from someone who knew these vehicles. Fortunately I found Chad at BMC. A short visit with him and I knew he was the guy for my MGA! Brought my car over from Central Oregon and he soon had my issues corrected. Chad and his crew are pleasant, knowledgeable and cost-effective. I would highly recommend them for your British car.
