Bui Thieu MD is a family practice physician serving patients in Austin, Texas, from an office at 8738 N Lamar Blvd C in the 78753 area. For local residents looking for a doctor with an established presence in North Austin, this practice is a practical option to consider for everyday family medicine needs. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is closed on weekends, making it suited to patients who can visit during standard weekday hours.

As a family practice clinic, Bui Thieu MD is a place patients may turn to when they want ongoing care from a physician rather than a one-time urgent visit. One reviewer says Dr. Bui has been their doctor for years and strongly recommends him, reflecting the value that long-term doctor-patient relationships can hold. Another patient described receiving an injection and cream for a severe poison ivy reaction after an emergency-room visit did not resolve their concern, and reported improvement within several days. Individual experiences vary, but these comments provide useful context for people evaluating a family doctor in Austin, TX.

The patient experience described in reviews suggests a straightforward, community-focused office where affordability and access are important considerations. Some reviewers mention that an appointment may not always be necessary, which can be helpful for people seeking a more flexible visit option. At the same time, multiple reviews caution that wait times can be lengthy, with one person reporting a two- to three-hour wait and another describing a long new-patient wait. Patients with tight schedules may want to plan extra time and contact the office directly to confirm current visit procedures.

With a 4.2 rating based on 23 reviews, Bui Thieu MD has feedback that includes both longstanding patient trust and concerns about waiting. The practice may be a good fit for Austin-area individuals and families who value an established family physician, weekday availability, and a clinic setting mentioned by reviewers as affordable. Those considering a first visit can use the available review experiences as a starting point, while keeping their own medical needs, scheduling preferences, and communication expectations in mind.

One of the worse experiences I've had with a Doctor. I showed up at 8 am as a new patient, they kept me there for 3 hours without telling me when I will be able to see the Doctor, they kept putting people in front of me because I didn't speak Spanish and they thought I wasn't able to understand the filthy game they were playing by cutting the line and putting me behind. I would give this Doctor and his practice minus 5 stars due to the terrible way I was treated.

About 7 years ago I got poison ivy and I went to the hospital because my whole face was swollen, I could bearly open my eyes! The emergency room didn't do anything. They just said I had poison ivy that's it. So I went to this clinic and all he did was give me an injection and a cream. 3 days later I was free of poison ivy. Best doctor ever ! I highly recommend him.
