Cam Huong is a longtime Vietnamese restaurant in Oakland, CA that many locals know for dependable flavors, quick daytime meals, and a menu that fits both everyday cravings and familiar comfort food. Located on International Boulevard in Oakland's Little Saigon area, this spot has built a reputation over the years as a place people return to for banh mi, fried rice, and classic Vietnamese deli-style favorites. With a strong 4.5 rating from hundreds of reviews, Cam Huong stands out as one of those neighborhood restaurants that becomes part of a weekly routine for workers, families, and anyone passing through East Oakland looking for a satisfying meal.

A big part of the appeal at Cam Huong is its sandwiches. Reviewers repeatedly point to the banh mi here as a standout, especially the BBQ pork banh mi and the teriyaki chicken sandwich, which some customers say they go out of their way to get whenever they are in Oakland. The French sandwiches, spring rolls, and fried rice also come up often, showing the range that keeps regulars coming back. Drinks get attention too, including taro beverages when available. The food sounds especially well suited to people who want something flavorful, filling, and easy to grab during a busy day, without losing the distinct character of a well-loved Vietnamese neighborhood restaurant.

What gives Cam Huong extra local meaning is its staying power. Customers describe it as a beloved establishment that has served the community for decades, and that kind of history matters in a city like Oakland, California, where diners often value places with roots and consistency. The restaurant appears to have earned loyalty not just from nearby residents, but also from people who make a point of stopping in when they are back in town. That kind of repeat business usually says a lot: people remember specific dishes, familiar flavors, and the comfort of knowing what they are coming for.

The atmosphere, based on customer feedback, feels practical, casual, and community-centered rather than flashy. Cam Huong is a good fit for breakfast or lunch, a quick pickup, or an unfussy meal when you want reliable Vietnamese food in Oakland. Its daytime hours, open from morning through late afternoon most days except Tuesday, make it especially convenient for early meals and midday stops. Whether you are searching for a Vietnamese restaurant near International Boulevard, a trusted banh mi spot in Little Saigon, or a local place with long-standing neighborhood support, Cam Huong offers the kind of experience that feels grounded, familiar, and genuinely local.

Cam Huong Cafe Deli, Oakland ✨ Cam Huong Cafe is one of my favorite go-to spots for their fried rice and banh mi in Oakland's Chinatown, it was very convenient since it was by my old workplace, unfortunately, that location closed down. Eventually, they decided to keep the original location in "Little Saigon" open and they also have a small parking lot for their customers. I usually order their BBQ Chicken thigh and their fried chicken to-go. Their Shrimp Rolls and their desserts are my favorite. They also have prepared meal plates that are convenient on the go for a picnic or a quick lunch. This is a small, family owned Vietnamese mom and pop's shop. Highly recommended!!

Cam Huong has been offering good Vietnamese food to the local community for decades. Their French sandwiches and spring rolls are yummy to say the least. I especially loved their taro drinks. However, it has been out of stock for several weeks recently. Please note: the price has gone up significantly during and after the pandemic. You can easily spend $60 to $100+ if you're not careful about what you want to eat for that meal on the same day. Also, they encourage you to pay in cash. If you pay with credit card, you'll need to pay more!! I wondered why?! Remember: You wanna go there for their delicious food. But don't expect a friendly face or smile.

This restaurant has the best Vietnamese teriyaki chicken sandwhich I have ever had. I've been to countless Vietnamese restaurants, and this particular one has something special about their sandwiches. For the last decade, I have been traveling through Oakland each time I'm in the area for the sole purpose of buying one of their Gă Teriyakis. The bread has a great crunch, the vegetables are balanced with the chicken, and the mix of flavors is perfected (and unchanged) with each sandwhich. Plus, their smoothies are really good too. The boba and drink itself is fresh and high quality to the taste. Although the restaurant itself isn't the prettiest, the delicious food makes up for it.

When a place serves really good food, it sucks to make a better review. I ordered 44 minutes ahead of time to prep me for the rush on my call. Customer service told me your bond meets will be ready in 15 minutes I arrive and then they told me your Von these have not been made. You have been put in the priority list. You will be the next one that we serve and I told them that that's not what they mention on the phone and they should actually mention this before you order ahead and they charge you ahead. I am beyond disappointed with them.

BBQ pork and shrimp chips! This is the best bahn mi in town in my opinion. A beloved establishment in Little Saigon, I’m grateful it’s been around for so many years, and the quality has always been top notch through and through.
