Banh canh is the dish most clearly highlighted in customer feedback. One returning diner says they make a point of stopping for this Vietnamese noodle soup whenever they are in the Dallas area, and appreciates the chili peppers served on the side for an optional extra kick. While some diners praise the banh canh and describe the food and drinks positively, other reviews raise concerns about authenticity, freshness, soup temperature, and seasoning. This range of feedback makes Cha Bong a place best approached with clear personal preferences in mind, particularly for guests seeking a specific regional style of Vietnamese soup. Asking staff about a dish, spice options, or preparation can help diners choose with confidence.

Hours are listed differently across the week, generally spanning midday or early-morning periods, so visitors should confirm current opening times before making a special trip. For Vietnamese food in Garland, TX, Cha Bong offers a casual food-court option centered on soups, including banh canh, with chili available for those who enjoy more heat. Canh bún is completely not authentic Vietnamese, especially the vegetables. The food is taken straight from the fridge for takeout orders—it feels like they want customers to know it’s not fresh. The broth is still cold with solidified fat when handed to the customer, which is unacceptable.

Love the Banh Canh. Anytime I’m in the Dallas area I always stop here and get a soup here. They also give you chili peppers to add if you want an extra kick. Would recommend.

They used to be really good but now they put too much MSG in all the soups. My husband and I ate 3 times lately, we felt miserable after that. Really suck!!

Ordered the bun rieu. It aaa atrocious. Not authentic. Tastes like bunch of frozen old stuff that they heat up and not even heated up properly. Nothing in it tastes like bun rieu. AWFUL
