The experience described by guests is notably neighborly. One lunch guest appreciated a kind, helpful server who offered dish recommendations and made the table feel welcome; that meal came with generous portions and leftovers. A table spice rack lets diners adjust the heat to their own preference, a helpful detail for people who want more spice without assuming every dish should arrive at the same level. This makes it a fitting Berkeley Thai restaurant for a relaxed weekday lunch, an unhurried neighborhood meal, or a shared order where different tastes are in the mix. It also suits guests who value attentive guidance when trying dishes that are new to them.
Review feedback also helps set clear expectations. A few diners found the flavor of the Pad Kee Mao, tom yum noodle soup, or Thai noodles sweeter than they personally expected, while others called their food delicious and return regularly. Flavor preferences naturally vary, so it can be useful to discuss spice or dish choices with the team. For pickup customers, one reviewer described a prompt response after a missing item: the restaurant began remaking it right away and included Thai iced tea. At Chai Thai Noodles Berkeley in Berkeley, CA, that mix of familiar Thai dishes, accommodating service, and repeat-customer feedback offers a grounded reason to stop in.

Sign in to reviewThis restaurant has been on my want to go list, so I was excited to try it out! We ordered the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and the Gang Khew-Wan (Green Curry). The Pad Kee Mao was tasty, the flavor leaned slightly toward to a sweeter, tomato flavor side, but it was still enjoyable. The Green curry came with generous portion and was really flavorful. I especially really liked the eggplants, the texture was great and the seasoning was on spot!
Food was delicious! Ordered the vegetable egg rolls, Khaknom Jin Nam Ngaio, and Pad See Yew. It was all so tasty, and there was a spice rack to kick it up. I think I would skip the egg rolls next time, in favor of trying a salad or another entree. Looking. forward to going back and trying to catch the Lunch specials!
We enjoyed a delicious lunch here, thanks to our kind and helpful server. She made us feel welcome and recommended dishes for us to try. We were both very happy with our food, and the portions were so generous we had leftovers. We'll return anytime we're in the neighborhood.
I ordered food from this place twice. The first time, I ordered tom yum noodle soup, and it was incredibly sweet. I’ve never had tom yum soup with such a sweet flavor. The second time, I ordered the Thai noodles, which were also sweet but lacked any other distinct flavors.
I order here all the time for my family (usually pick-up) It's always super delicious and very good quality. The other night, they forgot to give me one dish I had ordered - I called to let them know I was headed back there so they started making it right away. Then was given a Thai iced tea upon arrival (for my troubles) - Super nice of them - Will come back for sure :)
