Sign in to reviewBeen going to CG for years. I'm stuffed and sleepy so short review. All the food at CG is good you can't go wrong. Get the sampler plate that sausage will change your life the crispy rice that's a meal and a deal. I need a nap.
Got the green curry with tofu. They confirmed it had no fish or dairy. Also got the mango sticky rice, confirmed coconut no dairy. Everything was delicious!
I used to frequent this place when I lived in the Bay Area, so when I have the chance to go back, I took my friends here. We waited over 40 min for 3 people on a Friday night. Unfortunately, most of our dishes fell flat - it was on the bland side and nothing spectacular. Even the sampler dish was just ok - nam kaow rice was not crispy enough nor was it well seasoned. The only dish we enjoyed was the wonton soup , which is the most flavorful. For comparison, Night and Song market in LA, or Sticky Rice Lao street food in Orlando, FL, blows this place out of the water. It definitely does not deserve the recognition it deserves. Or perhaps its quality has changed since I visited over 10 years ago. However, we did randomly run into an old friend we haven’t seen in 25 years here, so that was super cool.
Great food, menu has many options, Laotian and Thai selection, the food I got was just a bit sweet for me. Lovely service and food came quick!
I recently tried the chicken Khao Piek at this restaurant, a flavorful rice noodle dish reminiscent of Bánh Canh for those familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. While I was slightly disappointed that it did not include pork blood cubes, the dish was still enjoyable, enhanced by a generous amount of chili oil that added a pleasant kick. The service was warm and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the dining experience even more inviting. Prices were reasonable, making this restaurant a great option for both casual meals and more deliberate culinary explorations. Overall, the combination of tasty, well-prepared dishes, friendly staff, and welcoming ambiance makes this spot a strong choice for anyone seeking authentic flavors. I am already planning to return to explore more of the menu.
