Sign in to reviewFinally got to try this spot after years of having it bookmarked due to the very limited days and hours of operation. Came in on a Fri at 11:45 am and we were the first ones. Small/medium sized restaurant with tables of all sizes. I don't think they have AC/heater. It is literally a hole in the wall. The place got completely packed by 12:30 pm. It's a 2 person show, but they are efficient and the food comes out relatively quickly. Funny guy. Not much service after you receive your food though, especially once they get busy. Pay at the register rather than table after eating. Parking is free and wasn't difficult in the residential area nearby Small, simple menu. We ordered 2 beef kabob skewers $5 each, amok $18.50, yellow curry with chicken $18.50, ginger fish $18.50, stir fried eggplant with tofu $18.50, large rice $5. Every dish was fantastic. Great flavors, not too salty or greasy. Just wish the dishes were spicy. Skewers were tasty, just a bit pricey for the portion. They didn't have pork available at the time. Amok was good, but not mind blowing. The ginger fish was our favorite. Crispy yet soft and flavorful. Yellow curry was good, but seemed more like a soup since the curry was so watery. Generous amount of chicken and other ingredients. The eggplant was our least favorite because it was super sweet, but that's our personal preference. Generous portion though Overall, quality tasty food, reasonable prices, and good portions. I would go back, but since the menu is so small (it changes), I won't be rushing back
Quintessential hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The amok and cabbage salad are insanely good, and every other dish we've tried is solid too! Portions for some dishes may appear small, but the superb flavor will fill you up! Be prepared to chat with the owner. For families with young kids, there is only one high chair, but it doesn't get very crowded there. They are very nice and accommodating with children. The food came out super fast.

Only open Monday thru Friday from 11-1:30. Brian, the owner is very charismatic and likable as your host, waiter, server and everything in-between. The interior is dated like an 1980's sitcom. We ordered three dishes and rice. Fish Amok, $18.50 is a steamed basa fish marinated in coconut milk. Hints of lemongrass aroused my palette. I recommend this dish as a first course but we were tempted to try the Tom Yum Soup. Next we were pleasantly surprised with the Sitay Skewers, $5, available in beef and chicken. The beef had a glimmering glaze and tasted like it was marinated for hours with lemon grass and I'm guessing sweet basil. Next, Brian suggested the stir fried Eggplant with Tofu. The dish looked amazing and was covered in sweet sauce. The eggplant was a little 'mushy' and the tofu did not absorb the sauce. I would not recommend this dish with tofu. Maybe could have been better with pork or beef. Overall, I rate this experience 7.5 out of 10. Brian is very inviting and I will return and I'll try different dishes.
