If you are looking for a casual spot for Cambodian restaurant dining in Los Angeles, CA, Golden Lake Eatery is a familiar name in Chinatown. Located at 424 W College St, Los Angeles, this local eatery stands out for its long daily hours, serving from late morning until 2:00 a.m. every day of the week. That schedule makes it a practical choice for lunch, dinner, and especially late-night meals when many nearby options have already closed. For locals, visitors, and anyone exploring the neighborhood, it offers a convenient place to sit down and order something warm, filling, and easy to share.

One detail that customers often remember about Golden Lake Eatery is the range of comfort-food favorites that show up across reviews. Diners specifically mention sesame chicken, fried rice, gyoza, Thai tea, custard buns, and soup dumplings as items that caught their attention or brought them back for more. While the restaurant is listed as a Cambodian restaurant in Los Angeles, the menu experience described by guests suggests a broad, approachable mix that works well for groups with different cravings. That makes it useful for friends splitting multiple entrées, casual family meals, or diners who want a little variety on the table without overthinking the order.

The atmosphere also plays a role in why people stop in. Reviewers describe an amazing patio with lots of shaded seating, something especially appealing in Los Angeles, CA when you want an easy outdoor meal. The ordering style is casual and straightforward, with counter service and visual food displays that help make the experience feel accessible, particularly for first-time visitors. At the same time, customers noted thoughtful touches, like food being brought out on ceramic plates, which can make a quick meal feel a bit more comfortable than a standard takeout stop. Friendly service is another recurring theme, with guests mentioning sweet, helpful staff and appreciation for being told about specials or deals.

As with many busy neighborhood restaurants, experiences can vary depending on what you order. Some reviews are enthusiastic about specific dishes and the service, while others report disappointment with certain takeout items, especially orange chicken. For that reason, Golden Lake Eatery may be best approached as a relaxed local spot where choosing well-loved menu items can shape the experience. Guests who value outdoor seating, late hours, and a casual counter-order setup may find it especially convenient.

For people searching online for a Cambodian restaurant in Los Angeles, CA, Golden Lake Eatery offers a combination of central Chinatown location, broad appeal, and all-day-to-late-night availability. The sesame chicken is absolutely delicious - so is the fried rice and gyoza! Really friendly staff too. I want to come back to try the soup dumplings!

So good. Went with a friend and we split three entrees for around $40. The Thai tea was excellent. The woman behind the counter was so sweet and let us know about deals they had. I should have gotten one hundred more custard buns.

We were on our way to hop woo when we walked by the amazing patio here with lots of shaded seats. Very glad we stopped! Counter ordering with plastic 3D models of the food that's more common in Japanese restaurants here. We were pleasantly surprised to have our food delivered to us on ceramic plates with full silverware outside, unlike some of the nearby restaurants. Honey walnut shrimp was amazing! Crisp, perfectly cooked and saucy with huge chunks of walnut. The beef loklak was tender. Lunch specials are reasonably priced. Service was... Well, it's classic Chinatown. Efficient! Paid parking lot right next outdoor seating.

Ordered food via Postmates. The main disappointment was the orange chicken. The containers were filled with balls of oil drenched flour coated in sauce. What little chicken that I was able to find were dry, rubbery and tasted old. Within about 20 minutes, my stomach was cramping. My stomach has been killing me ever since. Do not eat here! I can never understand why a restaurant would do this. Avoid at all cost.

Save your money and don't eat at this place. I spent $48 on take out and I could get better food at Panda Express. The rice is dry, the orange chicken has no chicken just lumps of batter and they got my order wrong.
