Chili Thai Downtown Tacoma

I tried this Thai restaurant recently and overall it was quite good. They start each table off with a complimentary hot soup per person, which was a really nice touch and honestly set the tone. Simple but comforting. We ordered a good variety: pad kee mao, crispy garlic chicken, green curry, rad na, and chili fried rice. Everything came out hot and flavorful. The pad kee mao had a good wok aroma and nice chew to the noodles. The green curry was rich and aromatic, and the rad na was especially comforting with the thick gravy. The crispy garlic chicken was a standout, crispy on the outside and juicy inside with lots of fried garlic and basil. The chili basil fried rice was also solid and well seasoned. The Thai iced coffee is legit too. Strong, sweet, and creamy exactly how it should be. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The only downside is pricing on certain dishes. Some items feel a bit steep. For example, the khao soi noodle is listed around $25, which is quite high compared to many other Thai restaurants. That said, the food quality is good and the portions are satisfying. Given how close it is to my workplace, I would definitely come back again when I am craving something comforting and reliable.

My dish was enjoyable, I was served quickly, and the service was friendly. Nothing particularly special overall, but the tea was cute and I liked that I could walk here from the hotel I was staying at.

I ate at Chili Thai for the first time yesterday and it was fantastic! All three of us really liked our food. I had the pad thai and it kept really, really well for left-overs today. The restaurant was very clean and bright and it was just a great spot! I don't come to Tacoma often but Thai Chili is now going to be one of my go-to dinner spots for when I do! I definitely recommend this spot!

Ordered take out from the Tacoma location. I have eaten at the Puyallup location many times and loved their food. Went to pick it up and there is no where to park, not even for pick up. The order was supposed to be vegetarian spring rolls, and Massamun tofu. The spring rolls had chicken inside. The curry was extremely watery, not even a coconut milk consistency, but a water consistency. The flavor was fine, but the texture was just off. I don’t think we will be returning to this location.

A friend at work turned me onto this place, because I love Thai food and it's close by work. I've dined in and ordered to go several times now and never had a bad meal. They're food is always good. Chicken Pad Thai is my go-to when I can't decide.
