Szechuan food for dinner! We usually go to a place in West Plano, but my son suggested trying another restaurant he found tucked away in a less visible spot (still easy to find though). It wasn’t very full on a weekday evening, but I’m sure it gets busy during lunch and weekends. The ambiance was simple with traditional Chinese décor. Our waiter spoke minimal English but was very efficient and friendly. She quickly gave us the menu and took our order. We ordered:• Fresh live tilapia steamed with spicy sauce, broccoli, and bean sprouts – very tasty, though a bit bony• Steamed rice – good• Green beans with ground beef – crunchy and flavorful• Boiled Chinese broccoli in a soy-based sauce – simple and delicious Best part: it’s very affordable! We’ll definitely be coming back.

This is my favorite weekend lunch-late lunch spot. This visit we ordered the special spicy Chongqing Style Fried Fish, A-chong greens in garlic, and mapo tofu (vegetarian). The fish comes out in its own serving platter with the fire underneath to keep it near-boiling. There must have been five different types of pepper—fresh, pickled, fried/dried.. the potato, lotus, wood ear, and long bean sprouts.. and cauliflower and peanuts (used sparingly) were so well balanced. Owners are always friendly and accommodating.. it’s a far drive out for us, but well worth the trek.

Hidden gem alert! We walked in on a Saturday night and practically had the place to ourselves (in the best way possible). No fighting for tables, no long waits, just quick service and plates of food that tasted like someone’s grandma was in the kitchen. Family-style portions, staff treats you like cousins, and dishes out the kitchen piping hot. Honestly, if you’ve got a hungry crew and zero patience, and you’re in the area, this is THE spot. If you’re looking for ambiance and more of a social dining experience, I’d say probably go elsewhere but if you want a no fuss and in a “I need food now” mood, it’s a good one.

October 2025 We decided to visit this restaurant after recent took out orders. Clean restaurant and generous portion but our selection was mediocre. Our claypot spare ribs have great portion but that was not the taste I was looking for, too peppery, I think missing ginger and garlic. I was looking for a comfort food experience on a cool night. The beef was light and flavorful. Our table near us order orange chicken and it smelled wonderful and appetizing. Maybe we need to revisit to order something different.

I love this place. Their Chongqing style chicken is amazing! Everything I have ordered here has been stellar. Green beans, cumin lamb, eggplant, chili wontons, fish/shrimp, literally everything. And they often have chili oil available for purchase!
