Customer feedback describes City Lees Market as a quaint bodega with a range of grocery items, including drinks, snacks, produce, and specialty products. Ice-cold drinks and snack choices stand out in positive comments, while microwaveable burritos have also been purchased here for a simple heat-and-eat meal. The selection may appeal to shoppers looking for small conveniences or something a little different from a larger supermarket. Because product availability can change at independent neighborhood markets, it is sensible to check in store for the specific item, brand, or prepared option you need. This makes it particularly relevant for a one-item errand or a modest fill-in shop.

Several customers praise helpful, friendly staff and a broad selection, and one calls it a great neighborhood corner store. Other reviewers report concerns about lighting, pricing, customer service, and product freshness; one account also describes an inappropriate interaction at checkout. These experiences do not establish every visit's outcome, but they give prospective shoppers useful context to consider alongside the favorable feedback. The contrast makes it especially worthwhile to shop attentively and form an impression from a current visit.

For shoppers searching for a grocery store in Berkeley, CA with extended daily hours, City Lees Market is best approached as a convenient neighborhood stop. It can fit a quick visit for cold beverages, snacks, basic groceries, or a specialty find, especially when time matters. The atmosphere is described as quaint by one customer, though another raised concerns about lighting. It is likely most suitable for people who value close-by access and a bodega-style selection. The all-week schedule is a practical detail for people whose errands fall outside standard daytime windows. Shoppers with a particular product, pricing, freshness, or service expectation may wish to confirm it in person during their visit, so the stop matches their needs.

The market needs to improve in several areas. Inadequate lighting affects the overall ambiance, creating a less-than-inviting atmosphere. The pricing structure is notably high, which may discourage regular patronage. Additionally, the customer service experience could have been better if the employee at the cashier had displayed courteous behavior. While the market may serve as a last-resort option in urgent situations, it is recommended for something other than regular shopping. The combination of high prices, poor lighting, and unsatisfactory service quality makes it difficult to justify choosing this establishment over alternative options.

My girlfriend walks up to the counter and tries to buy a celcius, the cashier hits on her and when she says she is not interested, raises the price of her celcius to 9$!. That is horrible and disgusting, please do not shop here.

Bought 2 (different types of) microwaveable burritos. Got home & found them both to be moldy. Sucks to be poisoned by incompetence or shady practices.
