Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang is a beloved Vietnamese restaurant nestled on Brookhurst Street in the heart of Garden Grove, California. For anyone searching for an authentic cơm tấm experience in Orange County, this cozy neighborhood spot has earned a loyal following — and a solid 4.5-star rating from over 160 reviews — by doing one thing exceptionally well: serving classic broken rice dishes that taste like they came straight from a family kitchen in Vietnam. Whether you stumbled upon it through a delivery app or heard about it from a friend, this is the kind of place that turns first-time visitors into regulars.

The menu at Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang focuses on the staples that Vietnamese food lovers crave. The sườn nướng, or grilled pork chop, is a standout — customers rave about how the meat is cooked to perfection, complete with those irresistible little pieces of rendered fat that add richness to every bite. The thịt nướng draws similar praise, seasoned and grilled in a way that longtime fans say brings back memories of childhood meals. Another must-try is the tàu hủ ky, a fried tofu skin dish that many reviewers call the best in town, noting its perfectly crispy exterior and savory filling. Every plate arrives with generous portions, so much so that most diners end up taking leftovers home, effectively getting two meals for the price of one.

What makes dining at this Vietnamese restaurant in Garden Grove feel special is the no-frills, no-gimmicks approach. There is nothing flashy about the setting, and that is entirely the point — the food speaks for itself. Walking through the door feels a bit like stepping into a grandmother's kitchen, where recipes have been perfected over time and the goal is simply to make you feel at home. Whether you are a first-time visitor or someone who has been coming for years, the warmth and consistency keep people returning week after week.

While some guests note that individual plates can run in the $15 to $17 range, the sheer volume of food on each plate more than justifies the cost. Multiple reviewers have pointed out that dining in is noticeably more affordable than ordering through delivery apps like DoorDash, making a visit to the Brookhurst Street location well worth the trip. The restaurant is open daily except Tuesdays, welcoming guests from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM, which makes it a great option for both a hearty breakfast and an early dinner with the family.

Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang is the kind of place that earns five stars almost effortlessly. It is ideal for families looking for a comforting meal, couples craving something authentic and satisfying, or anyone in the Garden Grove area who simply wants a plate of perfectly prepared cơm tấm without pretension. If you have not yet visited this hidden gem at 12085 Brookhurst St, the reviews speak for themselves — it is time to stop by and taste for yourself why so many locals consider it their favorite spot in town.

Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang is one of those places that instantly earns five stars. I first discovered them through DoorDash and immediately fell in love—but once I came in person, I realized just how much of a hidden gem this spot really is (and how much more affordable it is dining in). The menu hits all the Vietnamese classics: a solid lineup of Vietnamese appetizers, cơm tấm (broken rice), bún (vermicelli) bowls, and plenty of traditional Vietnamese drinks to round out the meal. Everything feels comforting, well-portioned, and thoughtfully prepared. What really stands out—besides the food—is the value. Prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for today: vermicelli dishes range from $12–$15, and broken rice plates from $12–$17. For the quality and portion size, it’s honestly a steal. The owner was the one who took my order, and they were genuinely kind and personable, which made the experience even better. That personal touch goes a long way and really reflects the heart behind the restaurant. If you’re ordering delivery, it’s great—but if you can, come in person. It’s noticeably cheaper and well worth it. Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang is comforting, affordable, and run with care—exactly the kind of neighborhood Vietnamese spot you want to keep coming back to.

Delicious spot for com tam. Definitely satisfied my cravings, the portions are huge! We never finish our plates here and always take it to-go. It could definitely count as 2 meals.

First time here, and it's a cozy cơm tấm place in garden grove. I was quite surprised how good everything was. It was a classic cơm tấm sườn/thịt nướng. No frills nó gimmicks. It tasted like my childhood. Best tàu hủ ky in town! I loved the filling of it and was fried to perfection. The thịt nướng was a bit chewy, but the flavor was great. If you're looking for a good cơm tấm place, I highly recommend this place! Bonus was they were playing classic Vpop!

A decent and quaint Vietnamese restaurant that deserves some more attention. They have a lot of the staple rice and noodle dishes that'll give you a blast of nostalgia as if you're eating with grandma. The entries get a tiny bit pricey but they give you huge portions so there's a good chance you might not finish your food. Like 2 entries for 3 people would be ideal. What to order? Just choose between rice or noodes, and literally pick and choose what meats/items you want in it The service is just really friendly and so heartwarming that it just puts a smile on your face too. It was relatively quiet when we went but seeing other locals come in with their kids and order "the usual" was so cute Food: 7/10 Service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Value: 8/10

So yummy!!! It was $17 per plate and it was a lot of food. I only ate half of it and had to take the other half to go. The pork chop is cooked perfectly and has super tasty little pieces of fat. Everything on the plate was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I’m so glad we decided to come here during our visit to California. The service was also great. Our waters were constantly refilled, we got seated instantly, and were checked on a good amount. We will definitely come back whenever we’re in town and craving it!
