Com Tam Saigon is a Vietnamese restaurant tucked inside Katy Asian Town in Katy, TX, serving the kind of comfort food that keps regulars coming back. Located at 23119 Colonial Pkwy Ste B-4, it has become a go-to spot for the Houston-area Vietnamese community and anyone craving honest, authentic home-style cooking. One longtime guest even cals it their favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the area and the first place they visit after landing in town.

The menu is extensive, but the broken rice plates are the heart of the kitchen. The C18 com suong, a chargrilled pork over rice, earns repeat orders, and the bun dishes shine just as bright, with vermicelli paired with smoky chargrilled pork drawing steady praise. Pair your meal with their Vietnamese iced coffee, made with sweetened condensed milk and described as flavorful without being too sweet. For groups, the family meals bring a diverse spread of dishes to the table, making them an easy choice for sharing.

The vibe at Com Tam Saigon is straightforward and unfussy. Service tends to be brief and accurate, the way many traditional Vietnamese eateries run, so you can settle in and focus on the food. Stop by Katy Asian Town, grab a cup of that iced coffee, and see why it stays on so many regulars' short lists.

The C18 com suong is super delicious! I got one for my dad too and he approved 👍. But be aware that parking is slim pickens in this plaza on the weekend at pretty much all times of the day. I had to park at a different section and walk over to get my food.

CLOSED ON TUESDAYS! Com Tam Saigon at Katy Asian Town is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Houston area — and the very first place I go when I land in town. I've been meaning to write a review for years! See my photos of the different meals I remembered to shoot. Anything you order, you can't go wrong! Everything here is consistently excellent. My go-to order is the Bún Thịt Nướng (B2) — the grilled pork is perfectly seasoned and cooked, the noodles are light, and the vegetables are incredibly fresh. I also love the garden rolls with pork or shrimp. What really sets them apart are the sauces: tangy, balanced, and flavorful without being overly sweet. You can tell care is taken with every component. We've ordered family meals, various entrees and it never disappoints. Their soups are also outstanding — comforting, deeply flavored, and exactly what you want alongside a Vietnamese meal done right. I bring family and friends here whenever I can, and everyone loves it. Their take out is quick and still as tasty. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, the prices are modest and fair, and the whole experience feels like a breath of fresh air compared to Los Angeles dining. Parking is plentiful, and while Katy Asian Town has many good spots, Com Tam Saigon is always my favorite. Reliable, delicious, welcoming — this place never disappoints. Try it!

The Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk was sooo tasty & not too sweet! My vermicelli dish with chargrilled pork was amazing too—I’d recommend any of their bun dishes really!

Our experience at Com Tam Saigon was average at best. While the menu was quite extensive, nothing in particular made us want to return for another visit. Service - what you would normally expect from a Vietnamese restaurant. Brief, accurate, but not overly friendly. Atmosphere - nothing mind blowing, everything seemed to be clean Food - we were able to sample three of the items below: Com Tam Saigon Dac Biet 2 - this was one of the restaurant's signature dish with Vietnamese broken rice. The presentation was 10/10! Plate was beautifully presented. Taste-wise, just average. Nothing stood out as amazing. Banh Uot Cha Lua Nem Chu - rice sheet served with fish sauce, pork bologna, and fermented pork sausage. Decent tasting, fish sauce was a bit bland. Restaurant was also skimping on the meat. Goi Ngo Sen Tom Thi - lotus root salad with shrimp and beef. Good portion size and presented well on the plate. The vinaigrette was unfortunately lacking in flavor which brought down the entire dish. Overall, not the worst Vietnamese restaurant we've been to. There's a lot of better Viet restaurants here in the Katy area though. Given our average experience, we probably won't be coming back.
