I’ve actually been wanting to try this place for so long and it did not disappoint. They’re known for their broken rice so ofc I had to try that. I got the special rice plate with bbq pork and it was so yummy! It came with bbq pork, fried shrimp cake, shredded pork skin, egg cake, and grilled shrimp cake. It was a good variety and everything goes well together. The pho da biet was really good too - really flavorful soup and tons of meat. Also got the grilled pork roll which I liked a lot too because of their sauce, not sure what’s in it but it’s not a typical peanut sauce i think? The roll also had some crunchy stuff which I liked. The pandan waffle and drinks were from the cafe next door. The waffle had a mochi like texture and the pandan flavor was pretty subtle. The drinks were unique but a tad bit too sweet for me, but overall they were great desserts.

my favorite viet restaurant in the bay area hands down. the portions here are HUGE and everything tastes super authentic! the rice in the com tam is soft and fluffy and the meat is nicely charred and marinated with the classic brown sugar glaze you get in viet grilled meat. the pho was packed with meat and the vermicelli (bún) was filled with greens and super refreshing! coconut coffee was perfect blend of sweet, toasty, and creamy and the pandan waffles were super chewy too! they do also get busy on the weekends so be prepared for a wait!

It felt less like dining out and more like being welcomed into a familiar space that quietly holds people together. Whether you’re arriving with a team after a long day or stopping by for a quiet, flavorful reset, this restaurant consistently delivers both nourishment and connection.

Really enjoyed the food at Cơm Tấm Thiên Hương in Capitol San Jose. The grilled pork was flavorful and tender, the broken rice was perfectly cooked, and the fried egg completed the meal perfectly. The restaurant was clean, service was fast and friendly, and the overall experience felt very authentic. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving traditional Vietnamese comfort food in San Jose
